Today, @KayonzaDistrict hosted the Q2 Lot 5 Amendment Validation Workshop, covering ETI-Mpanga in Kirehe and the Rwangingo rice scheme in @GatsiboDistrict.
The validation was successfully completed and approved with farmers under #RAB’s guidance. Farmers were urged to prepare early for the 2027A season, maximize productivity, and sustainably maintain infrastructure through collective action and Water Fee contributions, while strengthening collaboration with RAB and local authorities to ensure timely access to inputs and services.
As part of the #YEA_R Program’s efforts to promote youth empowerment, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods, a graduation ceremony was held today at Kimonyi Sector Hall in @MusanzeDistrict for four groups that completed one year of engagement with the programme.
The four groups comprise 120 members, including 116 women, 4 men, and 21 persons with disabilities. The ceremony celebrated their achievements in agriculture, entrepreneurship and income generation, while promoting inclusion and opportunities for young women and youth with disabilities. Outstanding groups were also recognized for their achievements.

The ceremony highlighted achievements in agriculture, entrepreneurship and income generation, while promoting inclusion and opportunities for young women and youth with disabilities. Outstanding groups were also recognized for their achievements.
This penultimate week, HoReCo is conducting intensive training for lead farmers from Lots 4 & 5 across the #Northern and #Eastern Provinces and the City of Kigali.
The training, delivered across 13 sites through classroom and field sessions, focuses on preparing farmers for the upcoming planting season, with emphasis on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), from land preparation and quality seed selection to crop management, harvesting, post-harvest handling, yield estimation and market access.
Under the #YEA_R Program, funded by @MastercardFdn and implemented by a consortium led by @SNVRwanda, yesterday, 14 August, youth, mostly students with disabilities from #INES, joined a learning visit to YEA-R participants in Biryogo, Gashora Sector, @BugeseraDistr.
Welcomed by our CEO @RBucyana and @uwezorwanda_ CEO Bahati Satir Omar, they explored poultry enterprises and exchanged experiences with young people, including persons with disabilities, who are turning opportunities into sustainable livelihoods through inclusive youth employment and entrepreneurship in Rwanda.

Today at #RwandaAgriShow2026, #HoReCo's Board Advisor, Mr. Phocas Gahamanyi, engaged with farmers supported through the #OMIS and #KWIHAZA projects. During the interaction, the farmers shared how HoReCo's technical support and capacity building have enhanced their productivity, strengthened their farming practices, and improved their livelihoods. They also expressed their commitment to applying and sharing the knowledge and innovations gained with fellow farmers to promote sustainable agricultural development.
Yesterday, HoReCo CEO @RBucyana attended the handover of maize shellers, tractors, and drying units to #KABOKU Cooperative in @NyagatareDistr, supported by @FAORwanda. The investment will strengthen post-harvest management and farmers' resilience.
With continuous support from HoReCo agronomists, #KABOKU has increased average maize productivity from 2–3 tonnes/ha to over 7 tonnes/ha through improved agronomic practices and sustained extension services.

Today, #HoReCo launched the Training of Trainers (ToT) for Scheme Farmer Promoters (SFPs) at the Kagitumba Irrigation Scheme in @NyagatareDistr. The event was graced by district officials and representatives from #RAB. The month-long programme is equipping 45 farmers from KABOKU Cooperative with practical skills in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), irrigation scheme management, cooperative governance, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, watershed management and conservation, post-harvest handling, and conflict resolution to enhance sustainable agricultural productivity.

Under #OMISProject, today @RwandaAgriBoard conducted an evaluation at the Bahimba Irrigation Scheme in @rulindodistrict, which is managed by @HoReCo_Rw, to assess agricultural activities, irrigation performance, and supporting infrastructure.
Discussions were oriented toward agricultural development, infrastructure management, existing challenges, and strategies to further improve productivity and ensure the sustainable management of the scheme.
Happened yesterday: On 08 July 2026, the 2027A agricultural season was officially launched at COMSS Cooperative in @KicukiroDistr, managed daily by HoReCo agronomists.
HoReCo Senior Agronomist in charge of the Northern Province and City of Kigali, @nickema77 , engaged with farmers, encouraging them to continue timely planting, apply good farming practices, and increase productivity. Farmers were also sensitized on the role of #FOBASI and the Rugende irrigation scheme in supporting sustainable farming.
Happened today: A rice productivity measurement was conducted at the Rwangingo Irrigation Scheme (Rice Lot 5) in Ngarama Sector, @GatsiboDistrict, bringing together the #RAB team, local authorities, Cooperative Ubumwe Gatsibo, agronomists, and farmers to assess the performance of the 2026 Season B rice crop.
Preliminary results from three sampled plots indicated an average yield of 7 t/ha. The exercise will continue in the remaining zones to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of overall crop performance.
