I was so inspired by @JessMaczzone part-to-whole work! And boy, this skill is HARD! So, how about a card game? 😜 One partner draws a card from the ‘part’ pile & the other from the ‘whole’ pile. Put them together & think, “How do these connect?” in a text you know. And repeat!
When our teaching falls flat and doesn’t feel ���sticky’ it might be because we’re telling kids WHAT to do, not HOW to do it nor WHY to do it. When we say, “Readers notice the way the author organizes the text,” we don’t want our kids to say, “That’s great and all but how?” #tcrwp

Today we did a school wide Paideia Seminar on the #cmspdl Learner Profiles. Talk about enlightening and amazing!!! These kiddos thought critically about each profile, the visuals, connection to other profiles, ones they most identified with and what might have been forgotten!
Today we extended our learning of prime, composite, factors and multiples with a hands on venn diagram. Students had a variety of labels and numbers chosen at random and had to identify the GFC and/or LCM! Always fun with @mrsdeegan821
