Yeah, this message doesn't really land anymore when the warning is essentially that Congress might start doing its actual job.
Oversight is one of Congress's core constitutional responsibilities. At this point, 2 more years of unchecked executive power enabled by a ridiculously compliant Republican-led Congress concerns me more than the prospect of congressional investigations.
There are serious questions about conflicts of interest, ethics, favoritism, corruption, and the use of government power that aren't being meaningfully examined because the current majority has little appetite for asking hard questions of its own side.
If the administration is acting appropriately, oversight will demonstrate that. If it isn't, the public deserves to know. Either way, accountability isn't "weaponization." It's kinda how the system is supposed to work.
Never before across the vast epoch of mankind has one lone imbecile been so thirsty to flaunt just how profoundly their congenital stupidity engulfs their entire soul and every cell in their corpulent, flaccid body, and might even be contagious to anyone coming too close.
Trump: "0 tax dollars for the ballroom. 0 tax dollars…This is going to be great. I'm giving you a ballroom free of charge, and I hope you enjoy it."
Taxpayers are expected to fund at least $300 million of the White House ballroom.
The "hold up" is that Russia brutally invaded Ukraine...
My @USAToday article from last year still rings true:
"Trump must tell Putin the truth about war in Ukraine. I pray he finally does."

They are never going to give you $5,000z Just like you never got your DOGE check, tariff refund, cheaper groceries, $2 gas, a healthcare plan, or 600% off prescriptions.
Btw: this is what Republicans used to call socialism.
Scott Bessent: "In 15 short months, we've gone from a president who couldn't stay awake to a president who never sleeps!"
…unless he's at a cabinet meeting, a press conference, a parade, a sporting event…
Trump has destroyed alliances decades in the making. America was trusted and respected. This gave us great advantages economically and strategically. His leadership is anything but America First. We are diminished and poorer.
In normal times, a sitting president turning a memorial for nearly 3,000 dead Americans into an opportunity to aggrandize and lie about himself would be a national scandal, met with widespread disgust.
Sadly, we are not in normal times.
“We should be appalled that the dignified rows of white marble headstones at Arlington could be overshadowed by this Great Triumphal Arch. We should all be appalled that our president is trying to impose such an un-American project on us.
Stop the arch.”

🚨 BREAKING:
George Conway: "Donald Trump represents everything we teach our children not to be. He's a liar, thief, and sexual predator. He has no remorse, shame, or empathy. He has no loyalty to the law or Constitution. He's the lowest of the low."
If you step back and look at Trump’s actions you’d think he was trying to destroy America’s economy, military capability, and its political place in the world. Most of us watching from the outside are just wondering why Americans haven’t stepped in to stop him yet.
There’s a strategy behind Trump’s unhinged Truth Social posts: push the boundaries, normalize the degradation, and hope the public eventually shrugs. But democracies don’t survive on numbness. They survive on people refusing to let cruelty become the standard.
