@ScottPresler Scott, they are a double edged sword for rural communities. In my town, several have higher paying jobs. On the other hand, many residents are losing their rental homes to construction workers. This could be over 100 in a population of 5,000.

These weren’t fictional lands. They were kingdoms, empires, and nations where God revealed Himself, judged rulers, raised prophets, delivered His people, and fulfilled His promises.

This is why you cannot trust someone simply because they quote the Bible.
The devil knows the verses, but he hates the Author.
He already knows his final destination, and since he cannot escape it, he is trying to pull as many people as possible with him.

Not every voice using Scripture is speaking for God.
Discernment is not optional.
It is survival.

On day 1 of my high school history class, our professor got up and said

You are 15 or 16 years old. 200 years ago people your age were married, planted crops, had children, and built a cabin by winter. You can do your homework. I have a habit of stopping by airport chapels when I have the time. Most of them have closed down in the US in major airports, but DFW reopened theirs and they’re basically mosques. I had a very uncomfortable experience praying in the chapel on Palm Sunday, but I refused to leave while the Muslims were being so nasty. I refused to leave what is meant to be a temple of the Lord, especially on Palm Sunday. I had a long layover so I waited them out. One man grew frustrated after about 30 minutes and left, but not before others came in. They were clearly having conversations about me in Arabic. They weren’t being shy about letting me know they were talking about me. But I sat and prayed and read the Bible and I did not leave until the last Muslim had cleared out. It was actually a very scary experience given how isolated the chapel was, but I think we need to start staking ground.
