Wow, is Twitter's video quality really that horrible? This video looks like blurry garbage and it's a 2880 x 1800, high bitrate MP4. Guess I'll have to make everything into GIFs.
I worked out a simple noise function that fills the whole map from the Sun to Pluto. Fun fact: it would take 5.1 years in the game to fly that distance.

I guess I could explain this better, ha... The noise function is what I'll use to place all the "stuff" in space like asteroids and space junk and enemies.
Started using "IndexedDB" for savegames, seems too good to be true โย huge amount of persistent storage space, built right into the browser.
Anyone run into unexpected problems with it?

I spent some time cleaning up nagging performance stuff and got the framerate back up over 200 FPS during normal gameplay. Also discovered that if you die, the game crashes. You say "bug," I say "feature."

The biggest complaint, so far, from the pre-alpha testers of my game is that it's too hard to tell which way you're moving. So, I added a big ol' grid.
