A startup once asked, “Have you done SEO for big brands like Amazon?”
My response: “Why would that matter for you?”
One of the common misconceptions I see from brands hiring SEO agencies is that past work with big brands means they’re a great agency.
If you’re evaluating an SEO agency, ask them about businesses they’ve helped that are the same size as yours (in terms of monthly organic traffic, revenue, and number of marketing employees). Ask them if they typically charge clients $3k/month or $30k/month for services.
