Learning kubernetes in AWS? That'll be 73 a month just for turning the lights on, not including ECS, ingress/egress, storage, etc. :( Looks like it's back to watching YouTube videos instead of hands-on learning for me.

On the plus side, I was able to spin up a gitlab instance, keycloack for auth server, rocketchat and an LDAP server complete with my own manifests and tie them all together. Terminated LE certs on nginx and made my own domain on route 53. Fantastic leaning opportunity.
