The Government is planning once again to cut Disability Benefits with a plan for those under 25 to have Universal Credit cut by 50% or just completely.

Of course Disabled people under 25 don't exist and they don't need to live.

Or so they seem to think.

If @andyburnham wants to fix the benefits system, they should stop targeting vulnerable people and look at administrative waste instead. Constantly re-assessing people who have qualified for years doesn't get anyone back to work, it just burns through public money.

I so wish the public understood what the welfare state was when it was originally set up. Health care, benefits & pensions all part of the outcome of creating a national insurance system. You paid in, when you needed support you were supported. We need to remember that.

In Luxembourg the average state pension for 40 years of contributions is nearly 4x higher than in the U.K.

Far from being unaffordable the UK State pension is a joke, what is unaffordable is the tax evasion which leaves us with so little money to spend.

@BenClaimant Let's not forget that PIP is not an out of work benefit anyway, so in the off chance one of these positions is filled, the disabled individual will probably be eligible to still claim a certain amount.
