Last week, I took my son + his mates to Adventure Island in Southend.
Adventure Island = not an island but a brilliant, weathered escape for working-class teens.
White Fox. Tech Fleece. £20 chicken poppers. Rain-sun-rain madness.
And it hit me...
The park was full of white working-class teenagers.
Girls wearing White Fox. Boys in Tech Fleece.
We don’t talk about them enough—not as props, but as people.
As a Black man, can I say: we need to.
It has every element a marketer dreams of—tension, resolution, transformation—yet it wasn’t designed by any marketing committee.
Whatever your belief or tradition, look beyond the surface and find something truly meaningful this Easter.
