@dragontroopbeta@6ixbuzztv Exactly. I would like the freedom to spend the money where I choose. I will make up any shortfall out of my own pocket anyway so we have every incentive to get the best value for the taxpayer's dimes.
@nick0se@6ixbuzztv This is the part I hate most. Teachers will get the best bang for their buck when they have freedom to spend the money where they see the best value.
@ant_iuculano@luxewithoutdebt@TorontoStar Actually, I am concerned about safety. Nothing costs more in health care dollars or deaths than cars. So let's have the car drivers find less dangerous modes of transport. Tax dollars saved will be in the millions.
@accordingtoca@TheBikingLawyer Sadly, my employer has designed to build a new office in my local ravine. There are also no grocery stores or any stores for that matter. My house, similarly, is in an urban area, not a ravine. All citizens deserve safe infrastructure to go about a normal day.
@CityNewsTO Driving in our car on Bloor yesterday the cycle lanes were well used. All people deserve safe infrastructure to walk, drive or cycle. If you can spend millions on an infrastructure of lights, police and roads for cars, you can spend a small fraction of this in bike lanes.
@BeauLariviere@CTVNews Years ago, when my brothers were in high school, the farmers would send a bus into town and pick up the kids, drive them to the farm to pick beans for the day and drive them back out. Lots of high school kids picked food on the farms.
@BrokenGimbal@TimiTV4@JustBins I am not aware they banned church bells. Newer churches don't have them because they are expensive to maintain and you have to have someone program them (most modern ones are electric.) Our Cathedral has them but I think they don't ring often because they don't have someone.
@michael_trumper@nationalpost You are confusing this with the supposed "mass graves" scam of the mother and baby homes in Ireland. They have done some digging there and found each baby was buried in a coffin, properly, and there is no evidence of a mass grave. Just lies to fan anti-Catholic sentiment.
@AlienVicePrez@nationalpost Of course there are graves there, many unmarked. Every cemetery in our country has unmarked graves and some whole cemeteries have been abandoned and forgotten. The knowledge of the past is so poor today, that it can be distorted and twisted and so many are easily fooled.
@McCBri@mrsunshinebaby@ElectionsCan_E Given that each party can only, and will only, run one candidate per riding, listing political party should be enough to clearly state which candidate you choose to vote for.
@chrisdacey I do think, if these people wish to protest or make changes, they should do so in a more meaningful way. This accomplishes nothing positive and devalues what running for office means. Develop a real platform for the change you wish to see and promote it with real candidates.
@GaryMcL47979933@McCBri@mrsunshinebaby@ElectionsCan_E People should be allowed to bring in a file card or small paper with the name of their preferred candidate printed in advance if they wish to. Some people have learning disabilities, despite being very intelligent, and may need to copy a non phonetic name.
@ZombiApocolypse@am968426@guyfelicella Have we really though? Digital services tax was gone right away. Billions out of our coffers. I have not seen any standing up except for empty rhetoric. Even Ford tried to tax the electricity and that lasted one day. I would love to think they will stand up. I hope so.
BREAKING:
The Longest Ballot Committee may have just nuked itself.
Northern Perspective just dropped an explosive investigation:
🚨 Caught collecting signatures on BLANK nomination papers
🚨 Candidates weren’t even signed on!
🚨 They WEREN’T official agents at the time
🚨 Massive Elections Act violations
This could invalidate the entire ballot!
Fines. Charges. Maybe even arrests.
MSM, RCMP & Elections Canada can’t ignore this.
@WatsoChris@WayneMathison@guyfelicella Housing crisis, young people giving up having the financial stability to have a family. Health care crisis. Immigration crisis. Basically ten years of running the country by winging it and thinking everything will "balance itself". Wow, somehow, that didn't work out.
@WatsoChris@WayneMathison@guyfelicella Every political party has slogans when campaigning. Drawing any parallels between the Republicans and the Conservatives is intellectually lazy. Poilievre is not Trump because, among many reasons, we are not America. He is like Trump as much as Singh is like Putin.
