Something a mentor once said to me when I was young that has been stuck in my head ever since:
The hardest part about success is not how much you have to work
It is the gap that exists between the work you are doing and the reward you are receiving along the way
As I grew up, I certainly noticed this phenomenon over and over again
A lot of success feels like it happened overnight to the outside world because they don’t actually see all the failure and hardship that went underneath
All the late nights go unnoticed by others. You don’t receive a pat on the back or a compliment for just showing up over and over again
Then all of a sudden, all that effort finally culminates into a moment where the success becomes transparent to the outside world
It looks like it happened in an instant, but reality could not be further from the truth
It takes an incredible amount of patience and delayed gratification to keep putting in the work as you are waiting for the reward at the end
That valley between the two is where most people fail or give up. Not everyone has the capability to keep showing up despite not receiving any acknowledgement or external validation from society
Having that patience and self confidence is a superpower. One of the most underrated character traits for success

Every time I listen to Atif Aslam, I think, “I wish India and Pakistan were still one country.
And then, within seconds, Babar Azam’s face pops into my mind.

The #Nataraja idol hides a powerful secret.
#Shiva doesn’t destroy the demon Apasmara (ignorance).
He stands on him.
Because ignorance can’t be killed —
only kept beneath awareness.
A lesson ancient #mythology got right,
and modern life keeps forgetting.
