@cherylbenson@polybioRF They may be able to. The linked page on their website highlights EBV and CMV research too. It looks like specific antigens need to be "tagged" so it would depend on the virus. Unfortunately many people with M.E. don't know what virus got them sick. Steps in the right direction.
@jenchemfolife@zalaly@NatureMedicine@Biostayan@EricTopol I don't know the answer to that but I think Dr. Zayad is working through the VA Healthcare system for these studies which is all veterans and skews heavily male? That's my best guess. @VirusesImmunity has showed there are sex differences in long covid so yes more studies needed!
@dysclinic Are there any other labs/biomarkers you look for that may suggest hypercoagulation and/or microclots outside of d-dimer? Scd40l comes to mind but not sure of any clinical relevance regarding a prothrombotic state?
@alexandrite113 Not to create a false dichotomy but I see two main possibilities here. 1. You were passive aggressive and she got tired of it and blocked you. Or 2. She made all that up to try to justify blocking you once you said you were ill. I think #2 is wayyyy more likely. Screw them
Every time something new comes out about some feature of the virus that causes a problem, like the impairment of cognition subsequent to mild disease, the people who argued for herd immunity by infection have a reflexive attack on those who believe it is best to avoid infection
Lately, it has been the accusation that the immunological harms of Covid are not rooted in fact or evidence, but are rather a cult-like belief
This is immensely fascinating, because a cult would balk and deflect when its belief systems are challenged. A cult would exhibit blindness to the new information. Refusal would be necessary for the cult to continue.
Many people rely on Marc Veldhoen for an immunological account of the effect of SARS Cov 2. Unfortunately, his account does not, absolutely refuses to incorporate, the findings of several papers.
What is even more telling about his refusal to acknowledge that T cells are infected by SARS Cov 2 is that he believes since his lab could not reproduce it, it could not exist. He believes he has the final say about the finding's invalidity. This is supreme arrogance in divestment of scientific practice. Dare I say it is religion where his lab has godhood.
Beware of the immunological interpretations of individuals who refuse to accept the findings of several papers; that sars cov 2 infects T cells
It is published in Nature family, elife, Gastroenterology, and elsewhere.

@Derek_a_Franks And by saying it's disingenuous I'm certainly not looking to insult or pick a fight. Just calling a spade a spade. This particular point in time is the epitome of an image reflecting cherry picked data. Zooming out is helpful on this data. Mask up everyone, regardless.
@Derek_a_Franks This is a pretty disingenuous post because although technically true, not every wave is linear and our wastewater had much higher levels a few months ago. With JN.1 dominance it'll be interesting to see the water level trend this year.
