On June 5th Israel attacked the home of world famous Lebanese sea turtle conservationist Mona Khalil. Mona was hospitalized with burns and injuries to over 70% of her body.
Yesterday, June 19th, Mona died from her injuries.
This wasn’t an accident. They didn’t make a mistake. Mona’s home was also where she ran her sea turtle conservatory- which she aptly named the Orange House Project- because, after all, her house was painted top to bottom in a deep, bright orange, the color of a late summer sunset.
The Orange House Project has been in operation for almost 30 years. You can find it on Facebook and Google Maps, along with dozens of reviews from visitors over the years.
So no, it wasn’t an accident or a mistake. Israel knew exactly what it was doing when it bombed the Orange House Project on June 5th.
It’s exactly what they’ve been doing since the war with Iran started: ethnically cleansing all of Southern Lebanon so they can steal the land and occupy it for themselves.
Turns out the Israeli government is targeting American churches to indoctrinate unsuspecting Christians. Nathan Apffel, director of “The Religion Business” explains.

👑🔥 AGAIN A WOMAN‼️ A QUEEN THAT STANDS UP.
Spanish MEP Irene Montero just torched the room in Strasbourg.
While EU leaders posture and celebrate, she looked them dead in the eye and asked:
What exactly are we celebrating?
Prevented a genocide in Gaza?
Stopped the illegal US-Israeli aggression on Iran?
Broke relations with Israel?
Ended the occupation of Lebanon?
No. We cannot celebrate any of these things.
Then she dropped the line that’s echoing across the internet:
“Happy Birthday, Mr. Genocide.” aimed straight at Trump.
The men in suits stayed silent or complicit.
She spoke.
Thank you, @IreneMontero.
Thank you, Spain 🇪🇸.
This is what moral courage looks like when institutions choose cowardice.
Lebanese environmental activist Mona Khalil has died from wounds sustained in an Israeli strike earlier this month, family and friends say.
For more than 20 years she was a dedicated & stubborn protector of Lebanon’s sea turtles.
She had stayed at her home on the beach in Mansouri, southern Lebanon, despite the war.
I had the privilege of interviewing her in 2017 when she was resisting the construction of a beach resort backed by powerful local players.
Palestinian prisoner Ayman al-Fakhouri has been released from Israeli prison today after 26 months behind bars without charge or trial, Quds News reported, sharing before-and-after images showing his severe physical deterioration in detention.
Israel’s widespread use of administrative detention allows Palestinians to be held indefinitely on secret evidence for renewable periods, without being told the accusations against them or facing trial. Palestinian and Israeli human rights groups, along with released detainees, have documented systematic torture, rape, starvation, beatings, and medical neglect across Israeli prisons since October 2023, conditions that have left many prisoners emaciated and that have killed scores in custody.
Al-Fakhouri’s gaunt appearance on release echoes that of other freed detainees, including journalist Ali al-Samoudi, who reportedly lost some 60 kilograms during his imprisonment.

Trump criticizes Israel's methods in Lebanon:
You don't have to knock down an apartment house every time you are looking for somebody.
There are a lot of people in those houses, and they are not all Hezbollah, that I can tell you.
Journalist Janine di Giovanni:
"If a missile hits a hospital in Ukraine,
Europe calls it a war crime."
"But if missiles hit a hospital in Gaza and 100 people die, it’s Israel's right to defend itself."

What the hell is happening in Britain?
In Russia - a brilliantly shot mini-film by German director Vincent Urban about the most beautiful country. Of course, this is a film about Russia, which is called "In Russia". In it, he showed not only the natural beauties, but also the types of different people. There are hooligans, shepherds, and soldiers.
The film really turned out to be very large-scale, although it only lasts 6.5 minutes. It's breathtaking. The atmosphere of our country is so brilliantly conveyed. In 6.5 minutes, absolutely different people with different needs and desires, living in different natural and climatic zones, are shown. And all of this is our huge, beautiful country, Russia 俄罗斯 🇷🇺

The Soviet Union (USSR), which was a communist state under Marxist-Leninist ideology, dissolved on December 26, 1991. The Russian Federation that emerged is a separate country with a different system.
Key Facts About Modern Russia
- Constitution and Government: Russia's 1993 Constitution establishes it as a democratic federal republic with a multi-party system, separation of powers (though in practice it's highly centralized under the president), and recognition of ideological diversity. No single ideology, including communism, is declared as state ideology. It describes Russia as a "social state" but operates within a market economy framework.
- Economy: Russia has a mixed capitalist economy with private ownership, markets, oligarchs, and significant state involvement in key sectors (e.g., energy). It is not based on collective ownership of the means of production or central planning as in Soviet communism.
- Politics: Vladimir Putin and the dominant United Russia party lead an authoritarian system. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF/KPRF) exists as the second-largest party and adheres to Marxist-Leninist ideas in theory. However, it typically gets 10-20% of the vote, functions as a systemic opposition (often patriotic and socially conservative), and does not control the government.
- Russia is not listed among the remaining countries with communist governments (e.g., China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, North Korea).
Putin has nostalgia for certain Soviet aspects (like strong state power), but he has criticized Lenin, pursued nationalist policies, and built a system based on personalist authoritarianism, state capitalism, and Orthodox Christian cultural elements rather than communist ideology.
In short, while Soviet-era symbols and nostalgia persist for some, Russia's current system is fundamentally post-communist.
