मेरा नाम अनुराधा तिवारी है ।

मैं उत्तर प्रदेश के एक छोटे से गाँव के ब्राह्मण परिवार से आती हूँ। बचपन से हमेशा यही सुनने को मिला - “तुम ब्राह्मण हो, तुम्हारे पास तो सब कुछ होगा”, जबकि हमारी वास्तविकता संघर्ष और सीमित संसाधनों से भरी थी।

बिना किसी Reservation या govt scholarship के मैंने पढ़ाई की, सरकारी कॉलेज से इंजीनियरिंग की, खुद का startup खड़ा किया और विदेश में काम किया। TEDx speaker रही और कई सम्मान प्राप्त किए।

एक जिम्मेदार नागरिक के रूप में मैंने हमेशा उन मुद्दों पर आवाज़ उठाई जो आम लोगों को प्रभावित करते हैं - poor infrastructure, food adulteration, freebies, caste-based politics ब्राह्मणों व सवर्णों के खिलाफ बढ़ती नफरत। मैंने कभी किसी समुदाय के खिलाफ नहीं बोला।

लेकिन समस्याओं का समाधान निकालने के बजाय अब मेरे 3-4 साल पुराने tweets खंगाले जा रहे हैं। @NCSC_GoI और Delhi Police द्वारा SC/ST Act के तहत कार्रवाई की कोशिश यह दिखाती है कि हालात कितने गंभीर हो चुके हैं।

क्या आज अपने विचार रखना भी अपराध है?
क्या आज के भारत में सवर्ण होना ही अपराध बन चुका है?

Been over 12hours and still no proper power supply in defence colony area near utkal hospital Bhubaneswar. Facing low voltage since 12am. For 6hours there was no power supply and next 6hours it's on low voltage, can't even run fan. Pathetic customer support by @TPCentralOdisha

Odisha is no stranger to India’s tourism circuit.

From the timeless Konark & Jagannath Temples, to the sands of Puri Beach and the vastness of Chilika Lake.

But it seems that if you venture deeper into the state you discover landscapes that are every bit as spectacular.

Duduma Falls in Koraput district where the Machkund River plunges dramatically off a rocky cliff is one such marvel.

It’s a reminder that India’s beauty is inexhaustible. Just when you think you’ve seen it all… another wonder appears.

Happy to share that with prudent fiscal management, #Odisha was No-1 in the country in @NITIAayog’s Fiscal Health Index for the year 2023-24. It’s a pride for all of us that Odisha not only led the nation but also was comprehensively ahead with a score of 73.1 over even the 2nd rank State that could achieve a score of only 54.

It is matter of great satisfaction for me that Odisha had charted this journey from near bankruptcy in 2000 to lead the chart in every parameter which no #DoubleEngine govt could achieve in the country. From a precarious fiscal situation to becoming the top performer in fiscal health, Odisha’s journey reflected vision, and transformative governance under the principles of #5T.

Highlight of our governance can be seen in every parameter of fiscal health-whether it is quality of expenditure, revenue mobilisation, fiscal prudence and reducing loan burden-emerging as exemplar state.

This sustained fiscal stability empowered the state to invest in many people-centric initiatives like #BSKY, #KALIA, #MissionShakti, #SkillDevelopment, #OdishaSchoolTransformation, tribal development, #DisasterManagement, infrastructure development, irrigation projects, poverty alleviation initiatives and funding of our own food security scheme-without waiting for handouts from Centre. I thank the people of Odisha for being partners in this transformative journey.

But now I am worried with the way the Odisha double engine govt is mis-managing finances, pushing the State in the path of bankruptcy and push back the development momentum to 25 years back. May good sense prevail.

I was born in a general category family. Not rich. Not influential. Just a simple middle class home where every decision is about managing expenses and surviving another month.

From childhood we were told one thing. Study hard. That’s your only way up.

So we did.

Late nights. Extra classes. Parents cutting down their own needs to pay coaching fees. Education loans before we even earn our first salary.

And every year, reservation keeps increasing. New proposals. New bills. More seats divided. More relaxations added.

For us, it feels like the space keeps shrinking.

The cut offs rise. The competition gets tighter. The pressure becomes suffocating. One mistake and you are out.

People assume general category means privilege. But many of us come from families with no land, no business, no backup. Just salaried parents or daily struggles. Still, we are expected to compete at the highest bar with zero support.

When reservation keeps expanding year after year, it does not just change numbers on paper. It changes the psychology of an entire generation.

It creates fear.

Fear that merit alone may not be enough.
Fear that opportunities are narrowing.
Fear that no one is listening.

This is not about taking anything away from anyone. It is about asking a simple question.

Should opportunity be decided only by category forever?

If help is needed, give it based on real economic hardship. Support those who genuinely struggle. But do not ignore thousands who are also fighting silently just because of a label.

We are not asking for sympathy.
We are not asking for special treatment.

We are asking for balance.
We are asking for fairness.
We are asking to be seen.
