I was on one of the first planes to land at LaGuardia Airport when flights resumed after 9/11. This is my raw footage from a Hi-8 camcorder. I said to myself, "where did the towers go," because I had never seen the NYC skyline without them.
Thoughts with the families of the five deceased victims tonight.

The above is what’s known as a METAR which provides the current conditions of airports worldwide.
Wind 190 vs runway 300 = 110° off the nose. That’s a left quartering tailwind.
Steady (17 kt):
Crosswind: ~16 kt from the left
Tailwind: ~6 kt
Gust (26 kt):
Crosswind: ~24 kt from the left
Tailwind: ~9 kt
Not sure what the ops manuals for this company says and why they elected to land on a shorter runway in such conditions but typically crew’s always add a gust factor component to their final approach speed(beyond the scope of this post), which calculates for a variety of different factors with the runway + wind as a critical component of that calculation which is normally done by the companies ops team then sent back to the crew in real time. Captains are well aware of these limitations including the limits of what their crew can handle.
Will not speculate on any actions taken but also curious to learn what the NTSB/FAA discover.
