VIDEO | Uttarakhand: Inside the Mahatma Gandhi Central Library at IIT Roorkee, history is carefully preserved for visitors to explore. From centuries-old books to fossils offering clues to the story of life, the archives take visitors on a fascinating journey through time.

According to the librarian, rare books, historical documents and other artefacts have been carefully maintained over the years and are now on display for the public.

IIT Roorkee's Librarian Nihar K patra says, “The old librarians had carefully arranged and preserved many old documents. Later, it was realised that these documents were extremely valuable, so it was decided that they should be preserved in this library. Gradually, this archive was developed here. It was established in 2019 with the aim of making these archives accessible to people."

@dpradhanbjp @narendramodi It's great to witness the inauguration of Hon'ble PM. I was founding University Librarian of this university. It is the need of the hour to appoint excellent authority in this university, if not, history may repeat itself. It was once renowned for its library, but now neglected
