I remember when, at Uber, the CTO instructed engineers to stop giving goofy names to services.
People went along (kind of).
Until it was time to rename those new, well-named services in a way that is distinct, not confusing… thus could not use the same name…
@lockdownurlife If you think about it, the most effective folks probably don't spend a great deal of their time on their social media profile. That's what socialites do.
My therapist once hit me with an analogy in a language I understand:
“Aggressively reduce the things you take on at the same time. You are not a computer processor where your pipeline of instructions execute and never miss a tick. You are a human; you’re not wired to do that”
@hexadecim8 As somebody who is very interested in this field but has very limited experience, what would you recommend as a good way to start out? I'm pretty good with Unix and competent with Assembly, but I don't have direct experience with either of those in a pure security context.
