@reelasian We have be working for over 2 years to tell the story about Jordan and my family, and I can’t believe we’re almost there. Being a part of @reelasian is a dream come true for a Filipinx-Canadian filmmaker, and I am forever grateful for their support.

October 23rd, 2022: PDB’s aura
I am (apparently) grounded, thoughtful, spiritually connected, and divinely guided. I am also incredibly anxious, trash at deep-breathing, guarded, in an intense state of flux, and need to eat more root vegetables.
I’ve written multiple notebooks full of poetry, journals and other scraps, after my brother died. Maybe a produced piece of art will come from some of them, but it doesn’t matter. I just needed to do it.
That’s the point of writing, and I used to forget that all the time.
Sometimes I get scared I’ll forget his baby face. I never do, but ya know… grief. But wait look, bowl cuts! Hope you smile sometimes like Jordan does in this photo. Or you’re weird and you smile like me.
Starting in August, I’m collaborating with @_nextgenarts to facilitate an art-based therapy program for youth affected by violence, trauma and grief in their community. I’m grateful to be a part of it. Visit their page for registration info.
"I spent the past year angry and desperate to find a way to prevent my brother's final day from being more significant than the thousands of days before," says @Patrick_deBelen who lost brother Jordan to suicide.
A difficult but touching story to listen to/read. Great work @CBCNowOrNever. And thanks for talking about this, @Patrick_deBelen.
