i’m still not mad at the trade at the end of the day because i think Zubac is going to be way better for us than most people think & Mathurin probably wasn’t going to be on the team next year

but man this just sucks. this was potentially our best opportunity to extend our window by another 10+ years by making the right pick. just a gut punch. we’ll be alright though, next season gonna make up for all of this

Losing out on the chance to draft top 4 is of course very frustrating.

It would be even more frustrating if you weren’t able to turn the 5-7 pick into a near All-NBA center on one of the best contracts in the NBA.

Especially when those 5-7 are likely to be PGs.

There are a lot of dumb takes about the Zubac trade now. I would've traded Mathurin, Acuff/Wagler and whatever late round pick goes in 2029 for Zubac.

A healthy Pacers team is a EC favorite next year.
