@bankofengland Blindly ignoring inflation drivers (food & energy) and raising interest rates, without tackling the main issues, alongside the highly incompetent @10DowningStreet. You'd be fired for mistakes like this in any other role. #policysuicide
The problem is not fees incurred at the point of delivery, but the disproportionate charges by customs. Regardless of the Brexit outcome, we need to find a way of making this work. We've exported to ROW countries for 30yrs and the framework is now easier than shipping to the EU.
The diary of #BrexitDisaster continues. On a daily basis, we face obscene customs fees for long-standing EU customers, despite being sent through #IOSS, having all Taric information and manufacturers declarations for the goods. (1/2)
"In case the invoice is in the name of the company, the company must have the import license issued by the Ministry of Health"(3/3)
Given Spain's reliance on British trade and tourism, it's incredibly short-sighted. I'll personally be boycotting any Spanish produce.
The #BrexitDisaster diaries continue. Spanish customs have now taken a rather authoritarian stance on their citizens purchasing goods from the UK affecting a number of industries. @tributscat (1/3)
In a recent statement on goods being rejected @tributscat said "All merchandise/products consisting of vitamin or food supplements are not accepted for dispatch and must automatically be returned to origin if the name on the invoice is from a private individual." (2/3)
@LullabyLaneBaby I don't think they have a clue where a CN23 is meant to be submitted. They have no concept of the thresholds. We've also been doing the same with DHL, but perhaps naively, I'm going to keep working with Irish customs in the hope that we can trigger some common sense from An Post
@DavidMcredmond
I spoke to one of the https://t.co/DSR3efU7ED staff members today who advised me to write in with a formal complaint in relation to recent shipments being rejected by "An Post" and in their words because of "Irish Customs".
@micko_carroll @Postvox I've been working with https://t.co/DSR3efU7ED over the last week, they are transparent, helpful and quick to respond. An Post couldn't care less. Arguably the worst customer service in the world at present.
@LullabyLaneBaby Interesting. I'm running a few pilots with https://t.co/DSR3efU7ED so I'll let you know if they still fail. I think they hate An Post as much as everyone else in all fairness and they know they are losing out on revenue.
@LullabyLaneBaby After working with https://t.co/DSR3efU7ED and bypasing the helmets at An Post, we've worked out that the Tarriff codes that we've used for the last 30 years didn't match the Taric (EU System). It's worth checking your codes match Tarics database, otherwise they'll be rejected.
@Postvox https://t.co/DSR3efU7ED has confirmed shipments that you have rejected shouldn't have been. I've carried out a full audit with them highlighting your negligence and sheer incompetent. You are at fault, every other courier to IE works fine.
@MissMcCarthyEng@Postvox On a call to An Post yesterday, a representative got angry and said "Perhaps you shouldn't have left the EU, we don't want to do business with you" It's got nothing to do with the customs declarations, every other courier is operating without issue. I'd suggest using DHL or DPD
@Postvox @micko_carroll Absolute lie, the only thing that changed on the 1st of July was the introduction of IOSS to "HELP" simplify VAT filing between the EU and the UK. Monstrosity of lies and deception, along with complete incompetence from An Post. Everyone can see it, EXCEPT YOU!
