@British_Airways I'm having issues with your pre-travel Covid document verification system and have tried multiple browsers and devices. Are there known system issues at the moment?
These benchmarks on @fastly's Compute@Edge vs Cloudflare workers are seriously flawed. The biggest problem is that they conflate network round trip time with “execution at edge” time. CF is measuring cherry-picked RTT instead of edge compute performance. From their blog:
@TeamKnowhowUK Thanks, however, it's not a browser or cookie issue as I've cleared cookies, tried in incognito and tried two other browsers. I'm a web developer by trade 😉
@curryspcworld your website checkout is completely broken and not letting place an order due to a CORS error to your API. Your webchat just told me to "try again later" 🧐
@virginmedia Hey virgin, I've spent all morning on the webchat and phone trying to upgrade my oomph account to Gig 1, which is now available in my street , no one has been able to help me and have been left on hold for nearly an hour. This is a joke.
@aaronpeters@AndyDavies Interesting, no in our local testing we just asserted whether a report was generated, but didn't try to correlate the error type. We've also only just begun to really dig into the production data.
@aaronpeters@AndyDavies Right, as @aaronpeters suggest, this is the beauty of the Reporting API, it allows you to supply multiple endpoints which it will fallback too if one fails. This is how we have ours configured, one of which is a non-Fastly frontend domain.
I recently wrote a post with @triblondon on the @faslty blog about the importance of the stale cache-control directives and how you can use them to reduce latency and be more resilient to failure. Let me know what you think!
