If they all agree to pretend it's true, it becomes operationally true.
And they apply that shit to everything. It's the core strategic insight of the radical right: "We can redefine reality just through sheer, united insistence."
"A Democratic senator should ask every single Trump appointee, 'Could Donald Trump run for president or vice president in 2028? Just a simple yes or no answer, please. Is it possible?'"

Also just imagine if Biden put out a statement on Thanksgiving excoriating the ‘Radical Right Lunatics’ - Fox hosts would love their mind. Centrist civility police would clutch their pearls.
But we continue to grade Trump on a curve, even now, nine years later.
The election lie is and always has been flexible: electoral outcome in 2016 was fair, popular vote was rigged; electoral and popular votes were rigged in 2020 but not congressional races; 2024 election - under many of the same laws and via the same voting methods - was just fine, except for the lost races of course.
It might all get drowned out in the daily rush of events, but the notion that Trump will fire the whole Smith team, + tell the DOJ to look for evid of fraud in 2020 election, is a 5-alarm fire for democracy. Looking forward to discussing on @cnn w/ @thelauracoates at 11 PM ET.
So Trump’s Border Czar nominee wrote the section on the border for Project 2025’s manifesto and Trump’s FCC nominee wrote the section on the FCC for Project 2025. But Trump had no connection to it and doesn’t know anything about it.
Dems are like, “we take institutions seriously so we’ll nominate Merrick Garland who will be meticulous and slow so no one will ever suspect him of political bias” and GOP is like “LOL MATT GAETZ AS AG”

Had a phone call with a Trump supporter friend today. Can once again confirm every Trump supporter I know is chronically factually mistaken about reality.
Here are a few verifiably false claims that were dropped:
1) claimed Trump wanted more debates and Harris didn’t
To those feeling despair: remember, every step toward progress in American history came after the darkness of defeat. Abolitionists, suffragettes, Dreamers, and marchers for civil rights and marriage equality all faced impossible odds, but they persisted. Now it is our turn.
No, I am not going to write about what Harris should have done, and pretend that my personal biases/preferences have some kind of universal significance
The weirdest meme out there is that the Dems “weren’t prepared for this result”
For months all people talked about was how Dems were anxious/bedwetting and GOP was confident (until Selzer). Dems might be in a bubble but they def were plenty worried this result might happen!
Our nation’s democratic system functioned last night and we have a new President-elect. All Americans are bound, whether we like the outcome or not, to accept the results of our elections. We now have a special responsibility, as citizens of the greatest nation on earth, to do everything we can to support and defend our Constitution, preserve the rule of law, and ensure that our institutions hold over these coming four years. Citizens across this country, our courts, members of the press and those serving in our federal, state and local governments must now be the guardrails of democracy.
In the coming days there's gonna be a lot of opining about what the Harris campaign did wrong, but this election was not an indictment of Kamala Harris. It was an indictment of America.
If Trump wins, there will be efforts to blame Russian interference or the Harris campaign or Biden, etc. That's all fair. But we need to be clear eyed that a huge swath of America likes what Trump is selling. Transphobia. Mass deportation. That's what he ran on. And here we are.
My main thought:
We're probably going back, but we can't go anywhere.
Our era will be about protecting their attempts to dismantle the progress that was made in the last century or so. It's a more sober mission than pushing for progress but it is an important one. ☮️
No matter what happens, it saddens me deeply that rape, felonies, trying to overthrow our democracy, misogyny, racism and transphobia are somehow not deal breaks for 10’s of millions of Americans.
Sorry kids, you have to do your own bedtime tonight. I have to stay glued to the TV to see if our country picked an insurrectionist psychopath cult leader or an extremely qualified woman.
NBC News exit poll: National gender gap is 21 points.
Harris is winning women by 12 points (55-43%) and Trump is winning men by 9 points (53-44%). Women are a slightly larger share of the electorate.
