Today, we pause to remember the lives lost in the devastating Kerr County floods one year ago. Our hearts remain with the families who lost loved ones, those who continue to rebuild, and the first responders and volunteers who answered the call in Texas’ time of need.
In moments like these, we are reminded that the strength of Texas is found in its people in neighbors helping neighbors, communities standing together, and an unwavering spirit of resilience. Please join us in remembering every life taken too soon, honoring their memory, and keeping their families in your prayers. #txlege
Two hundred and fifty years ago tomorrow, an extraordinary generation of Americans declared that our rights come not from government, but from Almighty God. They pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to establish a Republic founded on liberty and self-government.
We honor every generation that has defended that promise here in Waco and across House District 56. We are blessed by veterans, first responders, farmers, business owners, families, and neighbors who continue to embody the spirit that has made America the greatest nation on Earth.
As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, let us renew our commitment to faith, freedom, the Constitution, and the responsibility to preserve this Republic for generations to come.May God bless Waco, House District 56, the great State of Texas, and the United States of America. Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸 #TxLege
BIG WIN for Women and Girls! The Supreme Court stood up for FAIRNESS and COMMON SENSE. We fought to protect women's sports, and today America is stronger because of it. Congratulations to everyone who never stopped fighting for our daughters and granddaughters. MAKE AMERICA SENSIBLE AGAIN! #txlege
The first opinions are in the transgender athlete cases. In B.P.J., the court holds Title IX allows schools to provide separate women’s and men’s teams defined by biological sex, and WV has permissibly maintained female sports for biological females.

Happy Father's Day to the men who show up every day for their families.
Fathers teach strength, sacrifice, responsibility, and love. They lead not by words alone, but by example.
Strong families build strong communities. Strong communities build a strong nation.

🚨Attention HD- 56 🚨Severe weather can leave lasting impacts on families, businesses, farmers, ranchers, and communities. If you sustained damage from the June 14 storms, I encourage you to take a few moments to report it through the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s damage assessment survey.
Reporting your damage helps state and local officials understand the full scope of the disaster and can play an important role in securing future assistance and recovery resources. Even if you have already contacted your insurance company, it is still important to complete the survey and submit photos when available.
If your home, business, agricultural operation, or property was affected, please complete the survey here:

WACO FLOODING: I-35 appears to be underwater on the south side of Waco! This is near Loop 340 and I-35 right where Waco turns into Hewitt. Don't travel south out of Waco tonight if you don't have to!

Last night, I had the privilege of attending the Freedom Ball in Waco, an evening dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform and the families who have stood beside them in service and sacrifice.
As Americans, we enjoy freedoms that were secured not by chance, but by the courage, commitment, and selflessness of generations of patriots who answered the call of duty. The Freedom Ball serves as a powerful reminder that the blessings of liberty come with a cost, and that cost has been borne by some of our nation’s finest citizens.
It was especially meaningful to join veterans, active-duty service members, Gold Star families, community leaders, and fellow Texans in expressing our gratitude for those who have defended the American way of life. Their sacrifices have preserved the freedoms we cherish and the opportunities we pass on to future generations.
I want to thank the organizers, sponsors, and volunteers who made this outstanding event possible. Central Texas has always been a place that honors service, loves its country, and remembers those who have sacrificed for something greater than themselves.
May we never take our freedoms for granted, and may we always strive to be worthy of the sacrifices made on our behalf. #TxLege
The 2026 Republican Party of Texas Convention has come to a close, and I leave more encouraged than ever about the future of our great state. Over the past several days, delegates from every corner of Texas came together to debate ideas, elect party leadership, and chart the course for our movement. While we may not always agree on every issue or every race, what unites us is far greater than what divides us.
Now is the time to rally behind our entire Republican ticket: from the courthouse to the Capitol, from statewide offices to Congress. Democrats are working tirelessly to turn Texas blue, and we cannot afford to be divided when the stakes are this high. The path to victory is built on unity, hard work, and a shared commitment to the conservative principles that have made Texas the strongest state in the nation.
Let’s take the energy from this convention back to our communities, support every Republican nominee, and work together to deliver victories up and down the ballot this November.
United we win. Texas First. Republicans Together. #txlege
Huge congratulations to @DrindaRandall and @CoveyTX on their decisive victory as Chair and Vice-Chair of the @TexasGOP .Texas Republicans made their voices heard loud and clear. The grassroots showed up, and a new chapter begins for our party. Looking forward to seeing bold conservative leadership deliver for Texas. #TxLege
I am looking forward to another strong day for the RPT grassroots as we get started with Day 2 of convention. This morning was honored to help address the delegates this morning at the Grassroots Breakfast with Speaker Dustin Burrows. #TxLege
Last night, I had the privilege of helping welcome this year’s Texas Boys State participants as they begin an unforgettable week of leadership, service, and civic engagement. Programs like Boys State provide young Texans with a firsthand look at how government works while challenging them to think critically, lead with integrity, and serve something greater than themselves. Our state’s future depends on engaged citizens and principled leaders, and it is encouraging to see so many outstanding young men stepping forward to learn, grow, and contribute. Thank you to the American Legion, the volunteers, and the families who make this remarkable program possible year after year. To all the participants: make the most of this opportunity, build lasting friendships, ask tough questions, and never lose sight of the responsibility that comes with leadership. Texas is counting on the next generation, and your future is bright. #TxLege
Please join me in welcoming Abigail O’Brien to our Capitol office team as a summer intern! She’s a native of the Austin area and a junior at Tarleton State University, Abigail brings a strong work ethic, a passion for public service, and an eagerness to learn about the legislative process. We are excited to have her on board as we continue serving the people of House District 56 and the State of Texas. Internships play an important role in developing the next generation of leaders, and we are grateful for Abigail’s willingness to serve and contribute to our team. We look forward to the perspective and energy she will bring to the office this summer. Welcome to the team, Abigail! #TxLege
Today, we mourn the loss of Sgt. Devin Seibel, a proud Texan, devoted soldier, and selfless servant of our nation. Born and raised in Robinson, Devin answered the call to serve and dedicated his life to something greater than himself. Through his service in Iraq and Afghanistan, he cared for wounded warriors as part of one of the Army’s air ambulance battalions, embodying courage, compassion, and sacrifice. His commitment to his fellow soldiers and to our country reflects the very best of Texas and the United States Army. Those who knew Devin speak not only of his accomplishments, but of his kindness, humility, and servant’s heart. He leaves behind a legacy of honor and character that will not be forgotten. As we grieve this tragic loss, we also give thanks for a life lived in service to others. Our prayers are with Devin’s family, friends, fellow service members, and the Robinson community during this difficult time. May we always remember Sgt. Devin Seibel’s sacrifice and strive to be worthy of the freedoms he helped defend. God bless Sgt. Seibel, his loved ones, and the United States of America. #txlege
