The new university funding model elephant is here again.
The government categorizes the students into vulnerable, needy, less needy etc. Based on the category the student then knows the total amount the parents are supposed to pay.
Professionals taken hostage and academic achievement made irrelevant in this country by the politicians.
The academia side need put a pulse and evaluate how we are fairing.

Kindly let Chair COG note that training a medical doctor cost between 4million to 6.8million, a figure which Kenya taxpayers subsidizes
So how will government recoup the investment
Letter 2Government
Cost of training 1doctor USD 48,800, subsidised by taxpayers, if they resign, we loose, Wayforward, let doctors practice be subsidized in private, let them commit2attend over 2k citizens 4 free every month 2pay back 2society, the few in Government be Paid well.
To the government, this doesn't apply to the doctors alone but to all other cadres' training. Do a needs assessment and forecast your training based on what the market can absorb.
Meanwhile, nothing seems to be working; the health sector is in crisis, the same as the education sector, where money hasn't hit school accounts. There are two months to the close of the financial year, counties are owed nearly half of their shareable revenue, and Waziri Roads just said he has 700 billion in pending bills. Road accidents happen daily and everywhere. Where are the taxes going?
