Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin O’Neill as Football Manager on a one-year contract with a one-year option.

@aboutceltic@mcgowan_stephen We've just let a bunch of loan players go and brought in fees for dross like Palma and Inamura. Plus we're likely to get big money for Maeda, Engels and Nygren. Why do we do this to ourselves?
@squinteratn The Celtic board has been sorely lacking in vision and courage for decades. There have been fleeting moments of hope, but the primary aim is to not look beyond Scotland. Nothing will change until everything changes
Given where we are as a club at the present time, this was probably the best, and easiest, option. I have zero faith in the board & back Celtic Supporters Limited movement. After what O'Neill achieved last season, I can only hope he'll be given sufficient funds to strengthen 💚🍀
Martin O'Neill has agreed to become Celtic's manager on a permanent basis, following talks with Dermot Desmond in London.
The 74-year-old will sign a one-year contract, with the option of a further year.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Celtic Supporters Limited tell @MichaelcShearer the board must “put the foot down” and show fans a clear plan for the club’s cash.
“They’re storing cash… that’s where the club’s really let itself down.”
Big questions on Celtic’s next move.
✅ CONFIRMED: Katie Taylor will look to become a three-time undisputed champion when she fights for the final time in her career against Flora Pili at Croke Park in Dublin on Sept. 5 live on DAZN.
The Celtic board has wasted little time in sowing division. From initiating bans to considering a hugely divisive figure as manager.
Until there is meaningful change in personnel and culture within the Celtic hierarchy then there will be no sustained unity across the club.
@Alan_Morrison67 Isn't he leaving Palace because he feels they're not ambitious enough? Imagine what he'd think of getting £800k signings from the lower end of K League 2
Katie Taylor's next fight is reportedly being targeted for September 5th at Croke Park stadium in Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪🏟️
The Ring champion has previously stated that she intends for this homecoming to be the final bout of her legendary career 👏
@aboutceltic Another golden opportunity that we can't pass up. Then again, with no permanent manager, no DoF, no head of recruitment, no head of scouting, no chairman, and a CEO who can't even talk, would it be a shock if we lost to any of those clubs?
Really impressed with Rico Verhoeven tonight. He had Usyk stumped for much of that fight, and while the stoppage will be debated, it was only going one way from that point. Usyk has nothing to prove, hopefully retirement is soon 🥊
@BoxingKingdom14 Not a great performance from Usyk, and brilliant from Rico, but Usyk had him at the end there. It was only going one way at that point.
