@AmySlack_SAS @sascampaigns Have you got a link to the EAs 2022 classifications? I'd also be interested to see how things are changing at specific sites, both in terms of classification and actual quality metrics (as the classifications can change the chemical bands) e.g. Exmouth beach over the years, etc
@RussInCheshire These maps are an "undefended scenario" and don't consider existing, and planned future, defence measures (such as the Thames Barrier for instance). Not that we shouldn't plan for and adapt to sea level rise, but precision is important.
The OBR are back on-trend so always fun to bring out one of these forecast charts. Absolutely wild. If I was this bad at predictions, not only would I be out of a job but my organisation would presumably be shut down and our Excel licences burned.
@exeterobserver There's slightly an anti-student or anti-uni bias to this article (the latter certainly playing it's part on this issue granted) but let's not forget that it's the landlords' choice to make rents unaffordable for couples and families
@exeterobserver Do you have figures on the total number of landlords that own these properties (like a landlord / rental property ratio)? And if they live 'locally'? I have a suspicion that a lot of rental income also instantly leaves the area anyway.
@EmmaHowardBoyd@EnvAgency I didn't realise England had 9000+ km of coastline! How will these innovative measures align with the SMP policies? Or will they solely focus on community adaptation aspects?
Private rental in Exeter reaching its zenith w/ this 31 bed investment portfolio. I grew up on this street and would love to be able to return but there's too much money to be made. @ExeterCouncil @BenPBradshaw when does this officially become a monopoly?

Most people don't realize this, but the majority of high-income nations have already significantly exceeded their fair share of the carbon budget for 2 degrees. Their "zero by 2050" targets are therefore wildly inadequate. Here are the biggest overshooters:
@JuliaHB1@Nigel_Farage@SkyNews Buck. Palace is approx 6m above sea level (mAOD). Environment Agency 1 in 2 yr (50% annual chance) Thames water level is 5.16mAOD (in 2017). 1m sea level rise due to CC gives 1 in 2 year level of 6.16mAOD. Fortunately we continuously invest in Thames Barrier (and other defences)
