Uncovering the Pythagorean relationship using visuals created by @MakeMathMoments. Multiple strategies were used to solve these problems & visualizing squares off the sides of triangles helped students see the why behind the formula. @HDSBMath @DesmondHDSB

Students tinkered w/#microbits, uncovering coding curriculum & making connections to our sci/geo inquiry around sustainability. @InkSmith3D climate action kits have inspired many ideas to add movement in what students are working on to share @ our June exhibition. @Ms_E_Elliott

What a difference 3 weeks make! Yesterday, we did some taste testing of a few of the herbs we're growing, and today, we spotted the first flower on one of the bean plants! @HDSBCCEL @DesmondHDSB

We took time today to explore&tinker w/circuits. Students shared they were online for electricity in gr6 & missed hands-on explorations. So much value&learning in providing provocations & seeing what learning unfolds&connections they made to our term2 inquiry! @Ms_E_Elliott

Such a great afternoon supporting gr3&4 friends as they work through the #engineeringdesignprocess. 82 demonstrated great leadership as a coach to support & encourage along the way, while letting the 3&4s lead the learning. @DesmondHDSB @HDSBScienceTech @MadameArsicot

Our seedings were big enough to plant in our wall & tower systems! So much excitement from our gr8s & curious onlookers as we transplanted the seedlings to their permanent homes. Thx again to Dennis @ Plantwell & and the support from @TDFEF! @Ms_E_Elliott @belfordl @HDSBCCEL

Exciting things are happening in Grade 8! Ss planted seeds today after learning from Dennis our community partner at Plant Well Inc, how our new wall/vertical garden systems work and how to maintain them. We also planted seeds for our tower gardens! @DesmondHDSB @pattersonsclass
