Over emphasizing your mechanics is not always beneficial, over throwing disrupts the “effortless” or natural fluidity of the motion. Your mechanics are at their most efficient when they are smooth and simplified!

Here we have a sidearm throwing juco bandit, Ryan Widmeier is experienced with a great feel for what he is trying to do. Spins the ball with the best of them, however I do see space for improvement. Inconsistent lower half, would improve with some controlled back leg drive.

While graduate student Zach Gitschier was a foundational piece as a veteran returner for the Knights, I found Zach’s raw passion and energy oftentimes flirting with the line of what was too far, either way some school is getting a 91 mph fastball and true 2 way ability. Congrats

Sandlin hides the ball well even as a lower guy. Look at how long he sits in his back leg, keeping his body squared towards third. This allows him to smoothly explode down the hill in control as he uncoils. His rotational energy is projected nicely through his lively pitches.
