Binga's roads are a genuine concern, but there is also context. Increased economic activity means more traffic and heavier loads than these roads were originally designed for. Now the focus must be on upgrading them for the economy Binga is becoming. #Vision2030#BingaCulture
Budget 2027 must be about turning plans into things people can actually see and feel — better roads, reliable power, stronger hospitals, better schools and more jobs. Fiscal discipline must remain the foundation. #Budget2027#NDS2#Vision2030 ##VakaZim#EDWorks
From plans to machinery on the ground. 🚧 Bitumen World has begun mobilising equipment for the resumption of works on the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Highway. The focus now should be on steady progress and getting the road completed.##VakaZim#EDWorks#EDelivers
Bulawayo gets five days of sport, creativity, business and entertainment. But hopefully the lasting impact will be new partnerships, new businesses and new opportunities for young Zimbabweans. #KUZANA2026 ##VakaZim#EDWorks#Vision2030#NDS2
Let us #RememberKariba
It is easy to look at a road project and separate it from disaster management. In reality, the two are connected.
When communities depend heavily on ferries and small boats, transport becomes vulnerable to weather, mechanical failure, congestion and emergencies. Reliable road connectivity provides an alternative route for communities, emergency services and supplies.
That is why the infrastructure being developed around Kariba deserves attention as part of the wider recovery and resilience effort.
The objective should not simply be to remember those who were lost. It should be to reduce the likelihood of another tragedy.
Today as we #RememberKariba it is important to get facts right.
When a national disaster happens, the President cannot personally be physically present at every affected location. The test is whether the machinery of government is activated.
In Kariba, ministers and senior government officials were deployed to represent the state, coordinate the response and engage affected communities because the President was engaged with state duties in South Africa for the SADC summit. The First Lady also participated in efforts connected to affected families.
That distinction matters. The absence of the President from the physical site should not automatically be interpreted as the absence of government.
A functioning government is supposed to work through institutions, ministers, emergency agencies and local authorities.
#RememberKariba
Let us #RememberKariba today.
The response did not end when the headlines did.
One of the easiest things to forget after a disaster is that government response has several stages: search and rescue, assistance to affected families, recovery, infrastructure rehabilitation and long-term prevention.
The Kariba disaster requires all of these. Government’s responsibility therefore did not end with the immediate emergency response. Work has continued on infrastructure and access, including efforts to reduce dependence on ferries and small boats.
The important question is not simply, “What happened immediately after the disaster?” It is also: What has been done since, and what is being done now?
This inquiry led by Justice Mafusire will help us figure out a proper way forward.
Brick by brick, project by project, community by community. That’s how development happens. The Second Republic’s bigger test is turning national plans into better roads, more power, productive farms, stronger industries, jobs and opportunities for young Zimbabweans. #VakaZim

Zimbabwe is getting ready to tell its story to the world. 🇿🇼 The launch of the National Expo 2027 logo marks another step towards Belgrade, where our culture, heritage, products and economic potential will be showcased alongside more than 100 countries. #Expo2027
This evening, senior government officials, and I visited the Chivayo family home in Gletwyn, Harare, to offer our deepest personal condolences following the sudden and tragic passing of Mr. Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy "Lulu" Muteke-Chivayo, and three others.
The helicopter accident in rural Marondera on Wednesday afternoon has left our entire nation numbed and in deep shock and grief.
Wicknell was a man of grand vision, not just for his family, but for Zimbabwe and the wider African continent. The Chivayo family’s deep patriotism and selfless philanthropy transformed numerous lives across public service, religion, culture, and sport.
In this time of national loss, we also mourn the two promising crew members and the dedicated security aide who perished alongside them.
During this moment of profound heartbreak, we stand together in unity, compassion, and prayer with the bereaved families. May the Almighty comfort them and grant collective strength to our nation.
May their dear souls rest in eternal peace.
A gathering to reflect, reconnect and refocus. As ZANU PF heads towards its October conference, unity, economic development and implementation of resolutions remain important to achieving the country's Vision 2030 goals. 🇿🇼 #VakaZimbabwe
For anyone using the Simon Mazorodze–ZBC stretch, the roadworks are no longer just talk. You can see the machinery and construction activity on the ground. Let's give the project time to finish properly. ##VakaZim#EDworks#Vision2030#NDS2
Today is the day which every Zimbabwean who is patriotic will be glued to his TV at 2pm listening to President Mnangagwa delivering SONA. #Vision2030#VakaZim#ZimSONA
Our national team made us proud.
A night match under the lights at the National Sports Stadium something we had long missed. There is nothing quite like it. The floodlights, the crowd, the roar. For too long that atmosphere was absent from our national stadium, and tonight it felt like something had been restored to us. Zimbabwean football was truly home again.
The final score did not go our way against the Democratic Republic of Congo. That is football. But what I witnessed was so much bigger than a result.
I saw eleven men in our colours green and yellow giving everything they had. I saw skill, character and resilience against a formidable opponent. I saw a team that refused to lie down or stop fighting, as evidenced by the last minute score.
Defeat is not failure. Defeat is tuition. Every great team in the world has paid that price on the way to glory. Tonight was a lesson, not a verdict. Our football is moving in the right direction and I believe that with my whole heart.
Thank you our Warriors' Number 1 supporter our very own President Dr @edmnangagwa Good night Zimbabwe.

Speaking at the UN High-Level Meeting commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Prof. dr. Amon Murwira, reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s commitment to combating racism, racial discrimination and related forms of intolerance.
Prof. Murwira called for sustained collective action to dismantle political, economic and social structures that perpetuate racial inequality, while strengthening the protection of indigenous peoples, migrants, refugees and other vulnerable communities.
He also underscored 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮, “I am because you are; you are because I am”, as an African contribution to the world and a foundation for building societies anchored in unity, inclusion, respect and human dignity.
A proud and spirited performance by our national team tonight at the National Sports Stadium.
While the final score did not go our way against the Democratic Republic of Congo, our players gave everything on the pitch and treated us to a genuinely magnificent game of football. They showed exceptional character, skill, and resilience against formidable opponents, proving that our football is moving in the right direction.
Defeats are tough, but they are also the foundation of future victories. We stand firmly behind the team and the technical staff as they regroup for the rest of the AFCON qualification campaign.
Thank you to the thousands of patriotic fans who filled the stadium and roared until the final whistle. Our journey continues!
