How can you tell the difference between the conviction of the Holy Spirit & the condemnation of the evil one (or our own thoughts)?
Here’s one way:
Conviction leads to a greater longing to love better.
Condemnation has us focus on how unlovable we are.
I love that on the 1st Pentecost Sunday, it is the Apostle Peter who preaches. This same Peter had just denied Jesus a few weeks earlier.
The Holy Spirit is not a reward for good behavior & unwavering faith. The Holy Spirit is a gift to those who turn to Jesus & wait on him.
Resilience, grit, and a paisley-print t-shirt. 😅
Set aside the next five minutes and dial in to watch the moments that kept us on the edge of our seat in the #Canucks first-round series win.
Please join us with @HolodResearchEd, @CanadianInstit3 and @centre_um at the University of Manitoba this evening to learn more about Pavlo Nazarenko's moving testimony.
What if at the end of history, the question God asks us is not whether we abstained from sin.
What if the question is “Did you enter into the joy that was available to you?”
