On this day in 1995, the Grateful Dead played their final show ever. It was the second of two consecutive nights at Soldier Field in Chicago, with The Band opening each show. After closing with a rare double encore of ”Black Muddy River” and “Box of Rain,” the final notes rang out with a fireworks display set to Jimi Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner,” lighting up the Chicago skyline. No one in the crowd realizing they'd just witnessed the band's last concert, but as we all know, the music never stops 🌹

Between this and the 1 day longshoreman strike in October 2024, there’s now been 2 recent strikes that led to performative anti-union grandstands from Abundance types and then lasted less than 2 days. A real own goal. Maybe we should just trust the political wisdom of labor!

Wrigley is a tourist stop, that you check off the list like Garretts and The Bean. A vacation photo op. That’s why Sox fans are so annoyed by “Cubs fans” most are just bandwagon, we don’t jump on and off on the Southside. Put a competitive team together and we’ll show up, lie to us and tell us you’re trying and we won’t. That’s actually admirable. Cubs laugh at our attendance because they don’t get it, it’s not Six Flags, Jerry needs to earn our money.

@JimScheffres Finally I see a baseball relegation post that has a real ass proposal. Most are just stupid moving up AAA teams. This is something that might actually move the needle. My suggestion is the Top 15 get double the national revenue so make it really worth while to move up…
