Last year we went from Evan having a quite common form of epilepsy to a diagnosis of one of the rarest. In an amazing twist of fate we’ve found another family in Melbourne facing the same situation and this year we’ve decided to team up to raise funds https://t.co/jvkgR98tUC
This is going to leave a lot of people in a very desperate situation - some who may have been here for nearly 20 years. No way to get back to nz and no way to get support if you find yourself out of a job. So disgraceful
A slower pace of life, more time at home with family appreciating the small things, realising you don’t need as much as you thought you did and doing everything you can to stay healthy and out of hospital. Good health really is everything and something so easily taken for granted
So this is last years purple day photo but even though we’ve skipped purple this year it’s made me reflect on how much of our epilepsy journey is what everyone is going through right now..... #COVIDー19#EpilepsyAwareness#PurpleDay
Why can’t we get clear messaging like this in Australia. @DanielAndrewsMP@ScottMorrisonMP Today a level 3 has been implemented in NZ and from Wednesday it will be level 4 for 4 weeks. Well done @jacindaardern
@epilepsy_parent Recording your child have a seizure is the worst. It still catches my breathe when I come across old videos of terrible tonic clonic seizures. xx
@JamesMerlinoMP What are the plans for or kids with medical plans that are at high risk. Schools being told not to send work home if it’s the parents choice but what am I meant to do for my child with a chronic illness and his brother.
@infinitereality@Dinki777@Asher_Wolf@VitalAnon While some parents have said they’re having issues getting it the supplier says they have enough and it’s not on the tga list so hopefully it’s just a redistribution issue. https://t.co/y993Zm0Sro
@infinitereality@Dinki777@Asher_Wolf@VitalAnon Keppra seems to be a real issue right now but some unconfirmed concerns about Sanofi brand drugs that come in from France (frisium & epilim) - hopefully if we just get what we need everyone gets through as it’s a much higher impact than toilet paper.
Does closing schools slow the spread of coronavirus? Regarding epidemics: “Proactive school closures—closing schools before there’s a case there—have been shown to be one of the most powerful nonpharmaceutical interventions that we can deploy” | Science https://t.co/d4LqFH0vRw
This is why we won’t be sending our boys to school. Mr 6 has needed hospital admission 14 times in the last 3 years and I’m so worried about the the impact on the healthcare system if we don’t #StopTheSpread#shuttheschools#coronavirusaustralia
