UK trains: terrible but when I’m trying to see my aunt for 1 last time, travelling London to Sheffield @EastMidRailway reduced service, @LNER delayed because of a tree, & @northernassist also using the tree excuse, incompetence has human consequences @Heidi_Labour@vickyfoxcroft
In Lewisham, we have a proud history of welcoming refugees and immigrants, so much so that we became the UK’s first Borough of Sanctuary.
My caseworkers and I have also supported many hundreds of people with their immigration applications since I was first elected in 2015.
On Monday, I attended the Chanukah celebration at Lewisham Council. The Festival of Lights is more important than ever after the evil attacks on Jewish people in Bondi (and at the synagogue in Manchester). Anti-semitism is a stain on our souls. This cannot continue #bondiattack
I’m currently sat in church for Lewisham Council’s Carol Service. Beautiful singing, humour, collective worship. But after the news from Australia where a targeted attack took place at Bondi beach, we have to call out evil acts wherever and whoever commits them #bondibeach
@SouthernHsg_UK why are you treating the Flame Co-op so badly? Stop what you are doing, and talk to residents and me this week. Be kind and less aggressive
London faces a choice: the politics of protest, or the politics of progress.
We’re building homes. Others are blocking them.
My op-ed in @theLDNstandard on why Lewisham, @mayorofLondon and our Labour government are up for the fight.

8,083 more appointments than last year at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust – part of 5.2m extra across England - progress! https://t.co/3yX1NvFWsJ @lewishamlabour
When @Heidi_Labour will you strip the incompetent and useless @TLRailUK of their contract. Trapping people in heat waves. Constantly cancelling trains. Excuse after excuse for their failure to deliver what tax payers and passengers pay for?
🌈✨ @LewishamCouncil marching with pride at #PrideInLondon today!
Lewisham stands united with our LGBTQ+ communities, celebrating love, equality and the right to be unapologetically ourselves.
Together, we build a borough where everyone belongs. 🏳️🌈💖

Too many leaseholders are suffering from unreasonable service charges that turn homeownership dreams into nightmares.
Our Plan for Change will give leaseholders the power to better hold their landlords to account, while we take steps to end this feudal system for good.
An incident is happening on Gellatly Road with the road cordoned off. Professionals are on site to de-escalate the situation. Please avoid the area for now @cllrmillbank @LukeSorbaLabour
At lunchtime today we said goodbye to my friend and former councillor, Pauline Morrison. Life is too short. We must live every moment. Pauline supported me when I first became a councillor. RIP, Pauline.
Amazing news - Douglass House Project, Lewisham Hospital and the Ladywell Unit have received major funding for repairs and upgrades! Great to see the Government’s £750m NHS investment making a real impact locally.
