Jesus Christ, through His Incarnation, comes to meet every person in the midst of their own story, and reveals Himself as the true source of living water capable of quenching our thirst. This thirst that dwells in every human heart is not so much a thirst for material things, but a thirst for meaning, truth, and fulfilment. Jesus responds to our profound desire for relationship and communion with God, in whom the fullness of life forever resides. #ApostolicJourney #France https://t.co/X2EYktU5qW
In Jesus Christ, God chose the humblest historical circumstances and the humblest of creatures, Mary, to reveal the originality of His Kingdom, in which arrogance has no place and omnipotence means creation, service, and care for life.
God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
Even today there are tombs to be opened, and often the stones sealing them are so heavy and so closely guarded that they seem to be immovable. Some weigh heavily on the human heart, such as mistrust, fear, selfishness and resentment; others, stemming from these inner struggles, sever the bonds between us through war, injustice and the isolation of peoples and nations. Let us not allow ourselves to be paralyzed by them! #Easter
#SaintJoseph cared for the family that the Lord entrusted to him. Guardianship means being attentive to others, respecting their choices, and caring for them. St. Joseph shows us that presence and guardianship are inseparable dimensions: we can only care for others by being present, and we are only present when we assume responsibility for the other.
Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. - Isaiah 41:10
Going off script at the Prayer Vigil for the Jubilee of Young People, Pope Leo XIV tells the young people in English: “St. Augustine tells us; ‘There is no friendship that is authentic if it is not in Christ, and the true friendship is always in Jesus Christ, with truth, love and respect.’”
The Christian life is not lived in isolation, confined to our minds and hearts. It is lived with others, because the Risen Christ is present among the disciples gathered in His name. We are part of a people, a body that the Lord has established. No one is a Christian alone!
Habemus Papam! We have a Pope!
The Cardinals gathered in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel have elected Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as the 267th Pope, who took the name Pope Leo XIV.
The Lord does not want superficial “followers”. He wants people who question themselves and let themselves be challenged by His Word. So, to be Jesus’ disciples, we must first of all seek Him and keep our hearts open and searching, never satiated or satisfied. #Angelus
There are moments when life seems to be a sealed tomb: all is dark, and around us we see only sorrow and despair. In #TodaysGospel (Jn 11:1-45) Jesus tells us that in these moments we are not alone. Precisely in these moments He comes closer than ever to restore life to us.
#Lent is the “favourable time” to return to what is essential, to divest ourselves of all that weighs us down, to be reconciled with God, and to rekindle the fire of the Holy Spirit hidden beneath the ashes of our frail humanity.
