@sdi21_ @Bikerguy302000 @IainDale Banging on about typical lefty this and lefty that just makes you sound a lot younger than 21. Voters put 25yr old into parliament and they can turf him out again at GE if they see fit. House of Lords is job for life for getting on right side of Boris. Big difference.
@IainDale Completely misses point.People with no compelling case to be in such a position of authority and influence other than to have got on the right side of Boris Johnson is as good an argument against the institution as there is. Selby youngster managed to convince voters. Get it now?
@ilikespurs@LastWordOnSpurs Its not that bad.Only difference with Chelsea is they spend loads.
DoF isn't obviously a big issue & we're negotiating ins and outs without one and apparently Paratici still involved on some basis. Fans need to chill. Its easy to say 'just spend the money' when its someone elses
@Darodo01 @LastWordOnSpurs@SkySportsNews Grow up you donut. Levy would love 120m Saudi money but only a fkn idiot would think Harry Kane would go there either now or next summer. Know anyone else of note who thinks he's up for a bit of desert football?....thought not 🤣
@simon_fawthrop@RobertHanks@CJFDillow Yes you will get right wing even Farage might manage to get a seat but at least there will be an interest in politics. Its been stagnant for decades. Two parties fighting over the red wall seats and tabloid readers. Without this no prospect of meaningful change.
@simon_fawthrop@RobertHanks@CJFDillow Greens will poll 4 or 5% minimum if there's a threshold which allows a look in...anti Greens? They're almost all over 50s and vote heavily already mostly conservative. They come out to vote already its the young cohort which don't bother.
@simon_fawthrop@RobertHanks@CJFDillow You cant seriously suggest Greens would get 1 solitary seat in a PR system and one thing that will change is more young people will be enthusiastic to come out and vote. Thats an incentive to be more radical if ever there was one
@simon_fawthrop@RobertHanks@CJFDillow Trouble is, FPTP is now a huge impediment to anything Green or redistributive. We don't get a say in any case. Manifesto pledges are routinely broken. Until there is economic democracy working classes are easily set one against the other and left policies too risky at GEs
@simon_fawthrop@RobertHanks@CJFDillow Which makes one wonder whether a hung parliament with PR referendum the price to pay for coalition, is the best outcome at GE
@Nico879@CJFDillow When you see the hysteria whipped up by media merely at the hint of something more leftwing at those elections(Ed.Milib) or social democrat (Corbyn) you realise the Overton window is well and truly shifted rightward by the same media and corporate funded think tanks.
