@FINALLEVEL They don’t even know what “woke” truly means. It’s just a buzz word to them.

People referring to themselves as AI Video Editors is wild.

Art-Directing RBDs in Houdini is now live!

Anton Dan has been cooking this one for almost a year, and his attention to detail shines through every chapter.

Learn:
• VEX-driven RBD art direction
• Procedural assembly workflows
• Ground destruction & large-scale impacts
• Debris, dust, particles & Pyro
• Solaris, USD, Karma & Nuke compositing

Create from scratch a full cinematic project: a rock golem emerging from the earth and smashing into a sci-fi defense wall.

@Billy_Ocean_ I mean, it’s definitely not the best situation to be in but there’s gotta be a way to leverage it for a next project with better rates, especially if you were a department head.

[Paul Del Vecchio @pauldv]

@Billy_Ocean_ I’d assume more work comes from this though. That’s what happens… if something blows up, you can leverage it to get more work and better rates and start your career. I don’t know the full situation but it happens all the time with Production Designers, DPs, Editors, etc

[Variety @Variety]

Fired "60 Minutes" journalist Scott Pelley says CBS News boss Bari Weiss is lying when she says there was an effort to "find a way back" for him.

"At no point did anyone in the meeting suggest there could be steps taken by either side that would lead to a resolution. Weiss and Tom Cibrowski were openly hostile from the start. 'Firing' was raised by Cibrowski in the first 15 seconds. No CBS executive, at any time, suggested 'a way back.' To say so now is disingenuous. And they know it. In fact, Weiss, Cibrowski and Nick Bilton refused to answer my questions. I asked Weiss a number of questions about why she fired the entire senior staff of '60 Minutes' a few days before and without cause. 'I'm not answering that question,' she said... These executives cannot gain the trust of the staff with lies. This is antithetical to everything we stand for and reveals contempt for what journalists do."

@Billy_Ocean_ For real man. And some people who get a little bit of what they perceive as power, they become assholes. Like, dog, being a leader doesn’t mean being an asshole. You just showed you don’t know what you’re doing. You don’t know how to lead.

[Paul Del Vecchio @pauldv]

@Billy_Ocean_ They been saying Hollywood is dead for years. 🤷‍♂️

[Paul Del Vecchio @pauldv]

Another price bump for VRay. As much as I hate to do it, at this point, I might just switch to Arnold or just use Karma XPU.
