an official came forward, knelt down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died. But come, lay Your hand on her, and she will live” Matthew 9:18 Do I have this kind of humility and faith? Peace
St. Maximilian Kolbe once said:
“Our purpose is to fulfill God’s will, the will of the Immaculata. Other goals are a waste of time.”
This may sound strong, but it’s deeply true. When we consecrate ourselves to the Immaculata, we are choosing a clear direction for our life. We are no longer wandering or chasing things that will never satisfy us. Instead, we are living for what is eternal.
Everything else, success, comfort, recognition, or even good things that are not God’s will, will eventually fade.
Prayer for the Day
O Immaculata,
help me to live for what truly matters.
I want to fulfill God’s will through you.
Take my desires, my plans, and my ambitions,
and form them according to the will of your Son.
Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
A life without purpose is empty.

“Do not seek to be regarded as somebody, don't compare yourself to others in anything. Leave the world, mount the cross, discard all earthly things, shake the dust from off your feet.” -St. Barsanuphius
What's the point of having knowledge?
Despite (or maybe because of?) St. Thomas Aquinas' brilliance, he knew what mattered.

St. Zoe of Rome (d. 286 A.D.) was a noblewoman married to a Roman court official during the reign of the infamous Emperor Diocletian. For six years she suffered from a condition that left her unable to speak; when she met St. Sebastian she fell at his feet so that he would heal her. St. Sebastian made the Sign of the Cross over her, and from that moment her speech miraculously returned. As she was being healed she had a vision of an angel standing next to St. Sebastian holding a book in which was written everything that St. Sebastian preached. Her first words were ones of thanks and praise to God, and many witnesses of the miracle were brought to faith in Christ. Zoe and her husband then received baptism, along with many others who had come to believe in Christ through St. Sebastian's miracles. Of this new group of Christians, St. Zoe was the first to be martyred for her faith. She was greatly devoted to St. Peter the Apostle, and was arrested while praying at his tomb. She was martyred by being hung from a tree by her hair, with a fire lit under her feet. After her death her body was thrown into the Tiber River. She then appeared in a vision to St. Sebastian, who was in prison awaiting his execution, to tell him of her martyrdom and subsequent glory. St. Zoe of Rome's feast day is July 5th.
"Prayer to the Precious Blood" written by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton: Lord Jesus, by faith in Your merits, I now take Your Precious Blood and sprinkle it over myself and my family right from the crown of my head to the very soles of my feet. I claim total and complete protection for my life and my family. Lord Jesus, keep me free today from evil, sin, temptation, Satan’s attacks and afflictions, fear of darkness, fear of man, sickness, diseases, doubts, anger, all calamities and from all that is not of thy Kingdom. Fill me, Lord Jesus, with the gift of Your Holy Spirit, and grant me the gifts of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment so that I will live today in Your glory by doing that which is right. Amen.

"This is not something optional for Christians. It is not something ornamental in the gospel. Mary is - in a real, abiding, and spiritual sense - our mother. If we are to know the brotherhood of Jesus Christ, we must come to know the mother whom we share with Jesus Christ. Without her, our understanding of the gospel will be, at best, partial. Without her, our understanding of salvation can never be familial. It will be stalled out in the old covenant, where God's fatherhood was considered to be metaphorical, and man's sonship was more like servility." —Scott Hahn
