@islanders_takes Very possible. Not sure them getting boxed = them playing better defense though. I think the dcore played out of their minds with Dobson out and that helped. Everyone was locked TF in. But then regression hit and here we are. My theory

@WatchMyReview Ideally you have someone with skill that can grind (note: not a grinder with skill). Guys like Benson, Bolduc, Blake, Doan, Barbashev and Stankoven have all been massive for their teams-they play with a ton of grit but are highly skilled most and foremost

@JhanHky Great article. Reino wasn't the sexy pick Demidov was and Slaf is becoming, but he'll be a critical piece behind Dobson on that right side. Completely transforms that d-core IMO, assuming he hits as a legit top-4 guy

@the_habitant In what world does he have to "make a case" for top 10? He's undoubtedly top10. McD, Drai, Mac, Barkov, Macklin the only Cs I take before him. He's in the group with Eichel, Hughes, Matthews for that 6th spot

Doesn't mean it'll be immediately go-time from next year, but Hughes needs to build a team this summer that can win 1, if not 2 rounds. We need another top-6 wing, a 2C, better F depth, a top-4 RHD and a goalie

It's really worth considering if you're Hughes. Even if Zharovsky becomes a 90points wing and Reino a top-4 guy, it won't be for several seasons. Thomas could give you 80 points now at C. Tough
