@PiperK USAID was a miserable failure as a whole. I don’t agree with it being 100% axed, it needed strong reform, but I doubt if State had the leadership to make meaningful change.

@PiperK The problem was USAID and the State Dept evolved to spending money being a success rather than ROI. One purpose of USAID was promoting US interests and we lost sight of that. We also spent money trying to impose our culture and beliefs on other cultures that weren’t ready for it.
