@CMLewisGeorgeW4@311DCgov@dcwater@311DCgov@dcwater@CMLewisGeorgeW4 Update: the manhole cover has returned, unfortunately it is broken and now swings open and acts like a booby-trap for any unsuspecting pedestrian. Again, alley directly next to 421 Van Buren St NW, about 2 ft from the sidewalk. Who can help?
@311DCgov open sewer and missing manhole cover in the alley next to 421 Van Buren St NW (directly off the sidewalk) @dcwater sent a team and determined it was not their equipment. Can we get some emergency repair out here? Hole is open and full of water cc: @CMLewisGeorgeW4
@tweetelissa@DCDGS Might want to consider adding solar systems to these roof repair projects, and really for every school. Solar is a great way to cut costs, cut emissions and demonstrate sustainability for students.
@DCist@maustermuhle How much money does it take to screw in a lightbulb? About four thousand dollars a bulb I guess. I thought LED bulbs were supposed to be cheaper and last forever.
@311DCgov Can you direct me to the resource to get some new US and DC flags for the Takoma Aquatic Center? These are looking a little tattered. 300 Van Buren St NW.
@311DCgov@DCDGS@CMLewisGeorgeW4 Good morning. There is a drainage pipe (12-18β wide- 8β deep) missing itβs safety cover in the rain garden behind Coolidge High School. Debris is draining into the sewer with this hard rain. This is also dangerous to kids and animals. Thanks.
@DCDGS@311DCgov@CMLewisGeorgeW4 Do we have a status or ticket number on this repair? There is still a deep and wide drainage hole open in this rain garden and we are supposed to receive record rainfall in the next two days from Hurricane Ida. We just need a new cover.
@joshdr83 What is the dynamics for funding a big improvement like this? Does a large disaster repair like this get funded through Federal relief money compared to a smart upgrade project being paid for by the local power company customers?
@311DCgov@DCDGS@DCDPR@CMLewisGeorgeW4 Good morning. The Takoma Splash Park in Ward 4 is currently not working. Any word on if it will be up and running today? A lot of concerned parents and crying kids over here. Thanks.
@PoPville Protected bike lanes don't help me. We need roads that shut out private vehicles. We need roads that are dedicated for electric buses, bicycles, and pedestrians. I am never going to be comfortable regularly traveling by bike in DC while I have to share the road with cars.
@Janeese4DC With all due respect, in the short term none of these structural changes will help unless we have stepped up enforcement by @DCPoliceDept. Reckless drivers need to be taken off the road. Long term we need to have the courage to design an infrastructure that deprioritizes cars.
