Interesting take on #aiscaling#ai#openai@random_walker, the CPU clock speed example got me thinking. I wonder if AI will turn out similarly with more AIs instead of a faster/bigger AI. 🤔
In the late 1960s top airplane speeds were increasing dramatically. People assumed the trend would continue. Pan Am was pre-booking flights to the moon. But it turned out the trend was about to fall off a cliff.
I think it's the same thing with AI scaling — it's going to run out; the question is when. I think more likely than not, it already has.
@tdesseyn You got this! I found that when I broke the 24+ mark it was pretty easy to make it to a 48hr fast without too much effort.
Those first 24 were always brutal though.
Drink plenty of water it will help! Also don’t forget your electrolytes.
Until I land my next full-time role, I’m open to short-term software development, DevRel, and illustration projects! Please share!

@reverentgeek Also I’ve been using @swiftfulthinkng and @CodeWithChris on YouTube to learn Swift and SwiftUI. Great content and I might end up purchasing one of their courses as I get further along.
@reverentgeek I’ve been teaching myself Swift and SwiftUI. It’s been fun learning it. I’ve used Xamarin as well but find learning native has helped me understand how things flow. It’s diff than web dev so I recommend learning native first.
If, as a leader, and a leadership team, you’re not routinely exploring how you’re making it difficult (even unintentionally) for people to do their jobs, you’re failing at an aspect of your job.
@kelseyhightower Great interview!
Love how y’all discussed the fact that @bria_sullivan’s perspective on a game already being on the marketplace. She even said, “people play multiple games!”
@tdesseyn@gundotio By this you mean don’t type “write my resume” in ChatGPT and then copy paste the results, right?
I see #ChatGPT as a useful tool but has to be wielded by a skilled tradesman. Similar to a nail-gun or hammer in the hands of a skilled carpenter.
@IsForAt I’m in this stage of life too. Often I feel like I’m doing it all wrong. Not sure if it’s helpful or not but just know you are not alone.
My hope is they will eventually realize we are doing the best we can as parents. Even better if they tell us someday they appreciate us. 😉
This is a weird feeling as I’ve dedicated my career to sharing others’ achievements but I’m gonna to take a moment to celebrate myself. I’ve been promoted to Vice President of Developer Community at Microsoft!
@shanselman@CalebJenkins This is very well deserved, Scott! You are one of the reasons I still watch and learn about C# and .net even though I haven’t written C# or .net code in several years. Even as a rails dev I still appreciate all you do for the dev community. Keep up the great work!
@lessonlearned96 @laurchas22 I agree and with my job being remote and more and more people working remote it makes it even harder to build community and connect with people.
