@shaun_riordan Agreed, although the EU itself is becoming a source of strain on some of its members and a distraction getting in the way of other members speaking with a clearer voice and exercising more responsibility.

Just back from ISA and a panel on the theory of diplomacy. Baggy suited credentialing, gendered procedural silencing, Charlie Wilson, the theatre of the mask, and Burke on parliamentary representation all on one panel. Where else would you get this but in the study of diplomacy?
Torn about the summit. On the one hand it was breaking every single rule we know about success in these things. On the other, what if it had worked? Loads to think about. Of course, it may be back on tomorrow!
