Today’s drawing - an elderly gentleman with a smile that caught my eye. Took my time with this one. Pencil and chalk on mid tone paper. Quite enjoying doing some portraits. Getting a bit better at capturing a likeness.

@lifeatthenest We have just re- decorated Jan’s Studio, so I now have my own space to draw and paint - it’s much better than the dining table! My stuff is always to hand, and I don’t have to pack away all the time. Much better for keeping me motivated!

@lifeatthenest No, Sara - just doing more practice and taking more time. I’ve dug out some reference books and I’ve used those to brush up on some techniques. Jan is also very good at making constructive comments! I’m glad you like it - I enjoyed working on this (except for the cap).
