@mualphaxi I know it may sound strange but I felt a profound sense of sadness after receiving my PhD.

Years of my life were spent obsessing over a niche problem. Solving the problem robbed me of purpose.

Not to mention the struggle of finding post-grad work in a PhD saturated world.

@jjcarett2 -- is there a performance hit when using the Maybe type in Haskell? I can't find anything about this online, but it seems reasonable that there is a cost for decorating and un-decorating with Just?
