This is a good move: Amazon OpenSearch Serverless now offers smaller minimum sizing, halving the minimal cost from about $700 to $350 for production configurations, and from $350 to $175 for dev/test.
It's still not pay-per-use pricing though ๐

Hasta la vista, vector management.โ๏ธโก๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ
Amazon OpenSearch #Serverless lets devs build #ML-augmented search experiences & #GenAI apps without managing vector database infrastructure. Skip large lifts & easily transition from production to prototype.

@_sakojun Thanks for pointing this out. This was a limitation at preview, not GA. Amazon OpenSearch Serverless does scale down to the minimum OCUs required by your workload.
@tomk_@momentohq Thanks for the feedback folks -this is just the beginning - we did anticipate scale to zero being the top ask. We will definitely look into it.However, OCUs are shared amongst collections which helps in multi-dev environments while providing isolation between workloads.
