If I could go back in time, I would have quit school and just taught myself everything. Once you know how to learn, you realize what a massive scam and complete waste of time the modern education system is.
π’ Announcing #ReactNative for Windows v0.61! π’ This update brings RNW up-to-date with RN core's latest version across iOS and Android! We've got updated docs, fewer steps to get started, and a pile of new features. Check out our blog to learn more! [1/2] https://t.co/X7wQ7I2qDS
In JavaScript we've largely eschewed `var` in favor of `let` or `const`, and do-while loops in favor of for or while loops... but I just discovered that using `var` and do-while loops together can result in some pretty nice code (IMO):
Good idea? Bad idea?
@mrolaolu iPhone - hate it ..use it
MBP 2019 - love it ...own it
MBP 2017 - hate it..own it
iPad - hate it...own it
Mac pro 1 - love it ..own it
Appletv - hate it...use it
Note 10 - love it...own it
...so how do I fit to that logic?
@KrisSiegel@rauchg No RN is not garbage. developers who pick wrong tool to do wrong job build garbage... native, rn, vue, xamarin, flutter, cordova you name it. Assigning framework to outcome of your project quality whether good or bad is already 1st mistake you can make as a developer
Rendering a iOS notification with @reactnative anyone? π
Not sure if it'll make it into a release for @notifee_app yet, but it's been a cool experiment so far
Small delay loading bundle in dev, release is much quicker with a separate bundle
So #Apple won't repair my 4000 eur MB pro dysfunctional battery and butterfly keyboard issues (missing/duplicate keystrokes) under extended warranty claiming they found ...wait for it...water marks under the display. Well you get what you pay for ...oh wait...
@acdlite I used to have similar dreams about flash 10 years ago...based on that trend in 2-4 years #reactjs will become overcomplicated, abused by programmers, declared obsolete by incoming #html6 and killed off by Apple reluctant to support it :D

I remember times just before #flashmx died when #html5 promised to bring back the sanity of web, kill memory hogs, and cpu egg burners. Few years on...#PWA on the rise... and we are back at where we started π
As a consultant, I'm seeing an epidemic: Companies are wasting millions by giving developers slow laptops.
Today I said "npm install x".
My laptop: 10 seconds. π
Their laptop: 3+ minutes. π€―π€¦ββοΈ
Why? Weak processors, little RAM, platter drives, and slow security scanners.
I tried little experiment. how long does it take to build #ReactNative app with ReNative for 11 different platforms. Turns out not that long :O
Used 16 core Mac Pro. Next... MB Air :D
