Chala mandiki nachadu Kani e statement
Tamil vallu technically miles ahead of telugu people whether it may be dop or music or any other dept no wonder why pk inclined towards them during those days.
15 years later this is still one of the most visually stunning action films made in TFI.
wow, i’m so glad i got to catch this on big screen. changed my entire perspective of this film.
i’ve always been fond of this movie but in terms of rewatches i’ve never been inclined to fully experience it as many times as i would’ve liked to.
watching it on the big screen, you can see how many swings they took in making this film. we often throw around the phrase “hollywood level film” for any movie that just automatically looks grand, but a movie like ‘PANJAA’ truly embodies that phrase. every frame is so perfectly lit up with proper shadows and textures. the colors are so beautiful, the shadows are beautiful and more importantly every close up lands so strongly. it looks so much better than literally 99.99% of TFI action movies made in the last decade and a huge reason for that are the natural locations and real sets.
the sound design and score elevate every scene, the RIGHT way. not just constant loud music to elevate PK, not just overbearing with score playing in every scene. the calm LOTR-esque flute score or even the hype as fuck Panjaa title song BGM they all add so much to the ambience of the film the right way.
even the action is so slick. it’s raw, grounded and deeply stylistic in it’s own regard. the fighting itself has great writing layered in it. whether it’s the way PK has a signature style in the way he stabs someone or the way we get a payoff for the way he blows cars up, it’s all intentional in the right way that helps build up the character of Jai and his mythos.
even beyond just the visual or auditory flare of the film, it still has such a strong simple story with well layered drama. the entire first half establishes all the characters, gang drama, and stakes. the romantic track feels so sweet, the friendship between PK and Ali is so wholesome and the intensity between PK and his internal conflict is well established.
i fully agree, the second half has it’s own issues and one of the reasons i’ve never been inclined to check out the movie in full as many times as i should have, but i see where Vishnu Vardhan was going with it. at a time when TFI had a certain formula in commercial cinema, breaking through that fully with a massive star like PK is a very tough choice. even while sticking to the formula of it’s time, Vishnu Vardhan establishes that entire portion has a mirror to a life Jai always wished/wishes to have. it’s not as effective as it could’ve been but they did what they could. post that portion, the film picks back up and delivers an intense and grounded finale.
PK, what a star. every scene he possesses a certain aura that just lands. whether it’s him walking away from an explosion or even just him roasting himself in front of a mirror he carries a persona that is representation of star power. even jackie shroff, so freaking amazing. his intensity and demeanor just posses so much command over the screen. adivi sesh is a menace and ali is so good in this. same with Sarah Jane Dias, such a gorgeous and wholesome character. even other artists like Tanikella Bharani, Atul Kulkarni, Sampath Raj, Brahmi, and Parachuri Venkateswara Rao all hold this level of command we’re missing in today’s TFI.
‘PANJAA’ is a crazy reminder of what our potential is when we decide to push the various crafts of filmmaking to create something visually and dramatically epic, even with the most simple storylines.

Karunakaran is arguably the finest director of love stories in the past 30 years. His ability to portray love with simplicity, emotional depth, and relatability sets him apart. While many filmmakers have explored the genre, none come close to him.

From Tholi Prema, Vasu, Ullasamga Utsahamga to Darling ,Karunakaran has given us multiple masterpieces. It’s high time Telugu Twitter gives him the hype he truly deserves

Wrt openings he used to have edge over Vijay till 2015 , he should be blamed for doing movies with directors like shiva and not taking his film career seriously
Ap ki pk

Not easy being their fans
As a thala fan just wishing he does at least one movie with loki 🙏🏻
It’s a disgrace to compare the other three with SSR.He is in a completely different league.
I can bet that Srikanth Odela is a better director than the remaining three. Just wait for Paradise to release.
Fucking Loved #Chikiri! The freshness Rahman brings to the table is just lit that’s why he’s truly class apart,Aabsolute banger that’ll stay on top of the playlist for a long time.
