The biggest money-making opportunity in AI isn’t in tech.
It’s in entertainment.
In the next few years, we’ll see a billion-dollar franchise , the next Game of Thrones, Demon Slayer, or Attack on Titan created by a writer and a team of 10 to 20 people.
Imagine the billions generated by Game of Thrones, but split between 10 people instead of thousands. All the rights and royalties going to a single studio/publishing house.
Seedance is only two or three evolutions away from making this possible for small teams.
You don’t want to build the next Cursor, Harvey, or Salesforce.
You want to build the next Disney, Pixar, Marvel, or MAPPA.
The most common constraint for business growth isn't access to capital but allocation of attention.
You don't need more money, you need fewer things to focus on.
I’m convinced one of the first principles of building wealth is disregarding the opinions of others who don’t have it but tell you you’re doing it wrong.
@samuraipips358 What would be the criteria for an edge to be “confirmed”? Is it based on if you feel satisfactory on the performance from the large data testing?
Or at what circumstance would we decide our edge needs tweaking/improvement?
Learning lots! Thanks :)
@deadpool_trades @samuraipips358 From my understanding, as long as you have done at least 1000 backtesting samples (each) for both #1 & #2 setup, then it'll be fine to trust your system. At that point, probability will be on your side and you can trust your system to look for 1 or the other.
@samuraipips358 @deadpool_trades Yumi, would you say it is better for a trader to just decide on a single trading system and do religious backtesting/refinement instead of jumping or creating multiple different systems to test with? If so, how do we decide which system to get marry to?
@samuraipips358 Love your consistency on producing quality threads everyday too!
What would be the way to adjust/improve the system when you’ve collected a large backtesting data?
Seems like if you add/delete something new to the system, you’d need to re-test large sample data sets.
@samuraipips358@_fx_speculator Would you advise beginner traders to hold back live trading with real capital until at least 1000 manual backtesting data has been collected?
Since that’s when the edge will be more robust.
@samuraipips358 ありがとうございます.
So glad I stumbled across your profile!
Reading your threads really helps to set up the perspective right as a beginner trader.
Will be picking up your books soon!
Pro tip for goal writing season:
Next to each goal, write down what you’re willing to give up to get it.
You can’t add hours to your day, so you have to start by making room for the things that matter by removing the things that don’t.
People live in fear of the unknown, but almost everything plays out scarier in our heads than it is in real life..
take the risk .. and stop fearing the hypothetical outcomes
If you're in an upwards spiral, dial in and make sure it continues.
Don't skip the gym. Go to sleep early. No porn. No OF. No junk food. Put your head down and get to work.
Momentum is fucking precious.
This could be the season of your life that changes everything.
One thing we continually do at @AppSumo is reframe common buisness questions:
Turn “How can we make more money?”
Into “How can we help our customers more?”
Put yourself in your customers’ shoes and improve their experience.
The money will follow.
