Ekambareswarar Temple, Kanchipuram ~one of the five Pancha Bhoota Sthalams, where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Prithvi, the element of Earth.

Parvati shaped this Lingam from sand under a mango tree. That tree still stands.

The southern gopuram rises 11 storeys. A thousand-pillared hall. 1,008 Lingams lining the walls. Corridors that feel older than memory.

IIT Madras professor S. Lakshmi Bala walks a full quantum mechanics class through the two-level atom, and she does it for free.

Western physics departments charge over $2,000 per credit for a graduate course in quantum mechanics. This entire course has been free since the early 2000s, but someone is trying to hide it.

In this lecture she has already moved past abstract vector spaces into a real physical system, the same two-level atom model that shows up later in laser physics and quantum computing.

No login wall. No certificate fee to just watch. One professor, one blackboard, one camera that never stopped rolling for over 40 lectures.

Physics departments built million dollar tuition systems around gatekeeping exactly this material. IIT Madras just recorded it and gave it away through NPTEL, a program that now hosts over 3,200 free courses.

If you are an engineer or scientist or doctor turning to business, the first thing I would suggest is "Please go on a lot of sales calls, face rejection if necessary, but persist".

You will develop better communication skills as you realise that explaining your ideas is not so easy.

You will develop respect for sales people.

You may even become good at business!

One of the suggestions I have for our Honourable Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is to consider Singapore like laws on drug dealing and high level corruption.

Singapore awards the death penalty for drug dealing and for high level corruption. They do enforce these laws.

In the Indian context, at the Ministerial level and at the all India services level (IAS, IPS etc) we must:

1. Drastically raise the pay.
2. Any future corruption should attract the death penalty.

Raising the pay is equally important and we should declare an amnesty for past sins so we do not endlessly debate the past.

The courts should enfoce it, after proper review and due process but due process can not mean 30 year delay. Sigapore courts are very efficient and we can learn from them.

I have been an ardent fan of Lee Kuan Yew my entire adult life and I have read every one of his speeches! We must study his approach.
