Israeli singer Idan Raichel shared in an interview yesterday how he recently received a picture of himself from Gaza.

An Israeli soldier sent him an old photo of Idan with a Palestinian father from Gaza and a baby in a crib.

Raichel explained that this was taken during his humanitarian work with the Israeli charity Save a Child’s Heart, which provides free heart surgeries for children around the world, including children from Gaza.

The soldier then sent Idan another picture and explained: the father, now a Hamas terrorist, had a picture of the child at his home; he grew up to be a Hamas martyr.

This story is heartbreaking— literally. Israel saved this child’s heart, and he grew up trying to kill Israelis and died in this war.
